Karen Pence Is Working At A School That Bans Gay Employees

So what you are saying is that Christian school cannot have its religious beliefs. We will disagree in that I believe a private school has a right to hold to their standards in hiring.

As far as politics, I can agree it may be a bad move. imo, Trump and Pence is most likely a one term Presidency.

A religious belief is not the problem, the intolerance towards a minority is. Yes, they have every right to discriminate, but it makes them ugly on the inside.

You are speaking out both sides of your mouth. You state the belief they have is not a problem. Seems you our intolerance towards them. What makes you any different than the Christian school members? Guess as long as everyone has your beliefs, then they are ok

Before you try and post that I also must be intolerant to the LGBT people. That is not the case. Some of my coworkers were gay. One of them is still a friend. One can have different religious beliefs, yet still coexist, work with and be friends. That is when you know one is tolerant.

"Spouse of high ranking politician takes job at institution known for intolerance" is news.

Consideriing Pence, it's business as usual.

My school days are long behind me, but when did they quit building schools without closets?

Christian madrasas are disgusting and should be banned.

Intolerant of the Intolerant.

Progressivism is a snake eating its own tail.

The OP notes that this school is a National Blue Ribbon School. I Googled:

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program
Recognizing Great American Schools Since 1982

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. More than 8,500 schools across the country have been presented with this coveted award. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning. https://www2.ed.gov/programs/nclbbrs/index.html

But what good is a good education is the school doesn't teach there are 57 genders?! ;)

The school discriminates against LGBTQ people in its job application.

Karen Pence started at a job this week, teaching art at Immanuel Christian School in Northern Virginia. It’s not a school where very everyone is welcome. The 2018 employment application, posted online, makes candidates sign a pledge not to engage in homosexual activity or violate the “unique roles of male and female.”

“Moral misconduct which violates the bona fide occupational qualifications for employees includes, but is not limited to, such behaviors as the following: heterosexual activity outside of marriage (e.g., premarital sex, cohabitation, extramarital sex), homosexual or lesbian sexual activity, polygamy, transgender identity, any other violation of the unique roles of male and female, sexual harassment, use or viewing of pornographic material or websites,” says the application.

I think she can be excused because her husband talks to God.

remember when muslims were tossing gays off rooftops and the left sat in silence?

Hope her husband never applies. Not sure I've ever seen anybody deeper in the closet.

Pure speculation, you haven't a clue. But you're getting better at throwing **** against the wall to see how others around here will be impressed.

Um...

It's a Christian school...

Guess who also wouldn't be allowed to work there: atheist such as myself...

Would the Democrat party hire known diehard Republicans, to top positions in the DNC, if they knew their position and intent was contrary to the left wing propaganda? If not, does this means the Democrat Party is composed of bigots? Private Institutions are not require to hire or recruit those who would undermine them. They have the right to avoid internal anarchy, even if Democrat-Russian collusion is in favor of this. How about Christians, educated in science, be allowed to set the atheist agenda? Or are atheist also bigots?

One of the worse problems in modern Christianity was Priests molesting boys. This was/is homosexual behavior. Homosexual is defined as the same sex, having sex. Straight or natural priests were not doing this anywhere near the same rate. There was a psychological problem concentrated in one demographics.

The Catholic Church covered this up for years, to protect the gay priests. The left will not given them credit for this. But this protection became a liability. It was a lose-lose situation, after the left mischaracterized the homosexual nature of the abuse. The gays are sold as humble and trustworthy, but as priests there were sold as wolves in sheep's clothing. The LGBTQ community is sold, by the left, as innocent lambs and victims. But they also show a group dark side, in terms of militant political behavior, against people pursuing their own happiness or businesses. It is not worth the liability of the future, until they change.

The best solution is the LGBTQ community start their own churches and schools where they can teach their own vision of reality.

Warmth as long as you are not gay.

Yep, sort of like warmth as long as you are not white.

All past and present members of the caucus have been African-American. In 2006, while running for Congress in a Tennessee district which is 60% black, a white candidate Steve Cohen pledged to apply for membership in order to represent his constituents. However, after his election, his application was refused.[15] Although the bylaws of the caucus do not make race a prerequisite for membership, former and current members of the caucus agreed that the group should remain "exclusively black". In response to the decision, Rep. Cohen referred to his campaign promise as "a social faux pas" because "It's their caucus and they do things their way. You don't force your way in. You need to be invited."[15]

Rep. William Lacy Clay, Jr., Democrat of Missouri, the son of Rep. William Lacy Clay Sr., a co-founder of the caucus, said: "Mr. Cohen asked for admission, and he got his answer. He's white and the caucus is black. It's time to move on. We have racial policies to pursue and we are pursuing them, as Mr. Cohen has learned. It's an unwritten rule. It's understood." Clay also issued the following statement:

Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept—there has been an unofficial Congressional White Caucus for over 200 years, and now it's our turn to say who can join 'the club.' He does not, and cannot, meet the membership criteria unless he can change his skin color. Primarily, we are concerned with the needs and concerns of the black population, and we will not allow white America to infringe on those objectives.

It would seem that segregation and/or lack of diversity is deemed an important right of some groups. Certainly, if exclusion based on race or gender is OK then a religious institution has the right to exclude non-believers based on their assessment of their sexual practices being sins.

Why are bisexual women and men hated so much by the gay community?

Ya know, the very same people who claim to be victims of exclusion themselves?

But...but......but........................PENCE works for a Christian school!

Liberals are such assholes and hypocrites.

The OP wants to wipe out Christianity, that's the bottom line.

You know what's really sad?

You know this is a bull**** statement, and you said it anyway. That's how strong your hate is. I sure hope you don't claim to be Christian, because your god is allegedly not a fan of that kind of hate.

When someone puts out some petty little thread about someone working somewhere they don't allow gays. Then we find out it's a Christian school; sure they don't have anything against Christianity, sure sure. ;)

I did not know that private schools are exempt from taxes. Thanks for the info.

You're welcome.
I do not think all private schools are tax exempt, but religious schools are generally always tax exempt.

Did you just move the goalposts from "wipe out Christianity" to "have anything against Christianity?" Because damn man that's off the field, out of the city, and into the next sport.

My mouth is nicely formed and doesn't have sides, thank you. You're the one doing the accusing. Unlike you, I don't presume to know what others feel or think about any minority.

You misunderstand me completely. I'll try again.

As a private organization, I support this school's right to only hire teachers and staff who share their beliefs. I even understand why they would want to do so. I also support Mrs. Pence's right to take a job there. What I do not support, and never will, is any orgaization that discriminates towards any minority. Yes, they cn do so to their heat's content, but I would never do business with such an organization. I consider all discrimination despicable and short-sighted.

My WHOLE POINT on this thread was to voice my opinion that a high-ranking political figure is UNWISE to associate herself with a descriminatory organization of any kind.

But saying that you don't believe something is right is NOT the same as mistreating/discriminating against.

It isn't their religious beliefs that are objectionable, it's their intolerance.

Sadly, people have been using religion to justify their intolerance/bigotry.....well, forever.

It was used to justify slavery.
It was used to justify misogyny.
It was/is used to justify intolerance of LGBT.

There are still many states that allow legal discrimination of LGBT.

Pure speculation, you haven't a clue. But you're getting better at throwing **** against the wall to see how others around here will be impressed.

"You haven't a clue?" You do know that that doesn't make you sound smart, don't you? It makes you sound like a little kid who dropped his crayons when he found his mom's fountain pen.

And obviously the last 8 years has taught you nothing about me. I don't give one damn if people are impressed by me. Not even one.

Intolerant of the Intolerant.

Progressivism is a snake eating its own tail.

Calling people out for their unjustified intolerance, is not being intolerant.
It is simply exposing their intolerance.

If society judges them in a negative manner, so be it.
If society accept the intolerance, so be it.
