I know it's Democrats only, but I REALLY can't contain myself on this. First off, this 2nd debate was just a bunch of Leftist rabble. The Left complained about how the Republicans didn't come up with new ideas and how they were fighting each other, and how it was so childish to name call. Last night was EXACTLY what they did. There was no intelligence in the room. The moderators were awful, had weak questions, and were just as bias as the candidates they were questioning. You want a good set of moderators? You would have to turn to the people over at Fox News. They can keep order better and their questions make much more sense. Overall, a bad, disorganized, childish debate.

Now, who should drop out from last night?

Creepy-Sleepy Joe - He was just bad last night. The media has already deemed him unworthy before last night. So he has to go.

Andrew Yang - If all you're offering is one idea, you are useless to the Democrats. Goodbye.

Marianne Williamson - No one knows who you are and you're not socialist enough for today's Democrat party. You're done.

Everyone else should stay. Something I mentioned in the last thread, this needs to be a case of capitalism versus progressivism/socialism/communism. Crazy Bernie, again, admitted last night in order to get healthcare benefits taxes will be raised substantially on EVERYONE. So, yeah, he's already breaking his promise to just tax the rich, but it's not surprising coming out of someone who wants jailed criminals to vote, who owns 3 home, and defends his own millionaire status (while bashing on other millionaires and billionaires). In addition to that, ALL candidates want illegals to have healthcare insurance, which means taxes would be raised further. Then the ideas of spending even more money on "climate change" and to make our country "eco friendly." What it's true purpose is to have socialism come in and have the government slap on new regulations on all citizens, by fining or even jailing them. Student loans being forgiven, colleges and universities are not going to tolerate not getting paid and the Left will NEVER attack their indoctrination centers. So, guess what? Taxes will be raised yet again to pay for "free college."

All these ideas are NOT American values, human rights, nor even moral. This is oppression and it's slavery. That's how progressives, socialists, and communists ALL operate. The performances of the last 2 nights prove it. But, with how well the economy has been doing, I don't think these candidates have a prayer to win against Trump. If Biden is still their front-runner after last night's performance and becomes the nominee, Trump will eat him alive and win big. Of course, I think it goes the same way if someone else is nominated. They don't want to argue with the facts, so they simply make up something that everyone knows isn't true. At this point in time, we may as well Declare Donald J Trump the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election because these candidates are fighting against reality with fantasy, and we witnessed it the past 2 nights.

Harris needs to be the nominee. She is a prosecutor. She knows how to deal with lying scum like Trump because she has dealt with scumbags like him her entire career. She is exactly the type of candidate to take him on.

You don't beat a despicable human being like Trump with big ideas, you beat them by making it as impossible as you can for a decent American to rationalize giving a despicable human being like Trump another 4 years.

Other than every time those folks you want to sway look at the economy, you lose.

He is a lout, and a big mouth New Yorker, what else do you expect? But he is a businessman, what else did you expect than what we got?

well yes, that and healthcare for illegal emigrants, late term abortion, Socialism, electric doohickeys and trophies for all for the crepe de le crepe win!

And Republicans should continue to talk about TAx Cuts for Billionaires.

Are you saying that all New Yorkers are pathological liars that lie on average 7 times a day, have had 3 wives, did not participate in the raising of their kids, serial adulterers that cheat on their wives with porn stars when their wife has a newborn at home, are racists and beloved by white supremacists, and publicly absolve Kim Jong Un of the torture and murder of American citizens for no other reason than Kim evidently said nice things about him? Are you honestly saying that is a typical New Yorker and businessman? It's not. Trump is an utterly despicable human being and shames the whole country.

I'm still getting through the debate (been way too busy lately to have much meaningful participation in politics at all), so I have yet to get into too much of the meat. Thus far everybody's conducted themselves as well as can be expected. Obviously, I've heard by now that Harris crushed it, and that makes me happy to hear because she's in my top five favorite candidates.

I'm going to disagree on the 2nd part. Republicans are decidedly not decent Americans. You will not court their vote with decentness. Donald Trump has a 90% approval within the Republican party and the other 10% will fall in line.

Forget about courting republicans
Independents will have largely made up their mind to choose the democrat. Those that vote for republican were just republicans all along
The most important thing is to excite the democratic base! Excite the base enough win the house senate and presidency.

Here's my take on what went down tonight:

1. Harris stole the show. Lots of sweat tonight on lots of foreheads. Hers was not one of them.
2. Biden fumbled. "Pass the torch" is going to stick to him.
3. Sanders looked stale. He's trying the same shtick that he did in 2016, and it just isn't working.
4. Yang had a golden opportunity and blew it. All he got off was his universal income idea.
5. Gillibrand really really wanted in but just couldn't quite.
6. Buttigieg did pretty good. Waiting to see how the police case plays out for him though.

Biden really proved that he will let McConnel walk all over him and kiss his ass afterwards. He failed this spectacularly and still proceeded to cover up his past with furthering segregation.

Lets be honest-what exactly was the standards for being able to appear on that forum? She's a college dropout who writes touchy-feely stuff. She has no executive experience, no real education, and is your standard unimaginative-MORE GOVERNMENT-is the answer to everything.

This coming from a trump supporter.

true, going forward they need to let that talking point slide a bit...we already all know the cuts are coming anyway, so why alienate the weak, the tired the hungry...the utterly stupid.

Amy Klobachur. I know, I know, when pigs fly... but she is a blue-collar moderate with tons of experience and a no-nonsense pragmatist who I believe can actually achieve compromise in a fractured congress.

I tend to think this isnt just a fractured congress but an openly hostile party running the senate .

Maybe not, but realistically she has the best chance to actually win if she were to shoot high enough in the polls to get the nomination. She can bring disenchanted middle-class white and minority votes in the rust-belt states that Trump won in 2016 with his campaign lies and BS. A flaming progressive will drive these folks back to Trump, because some of the far-left candidates are promising free pie-in-the-sky that, if implemented, these working class folks know they will ultimately have to pay for.
Umm Hillary wasnt a flaming progressive. This is utterly bizarre. Do you have facts to back this up?

Thursday evening's debate went better for the Democrats than Wednesday's. With all due respect to every American citizen, if the Democrats want to lose to Donald Trump, they need do nothing more than continue to discuss Transgenders. Again, Transgenders are citizens, and are accorded the same rights as other citizens. However, discussion of this topic is particularly alienating to families and the elderly. They think - "Is this all they have to talk about?".

Trans people are still not equal and are still being murdered for being trans. There is still a higher rate of suicide among trans people because society still treats them like **** and thanks to Der trumpengroper, trans people who were serving in the military just fine just got kicked out of a job. Lastly, the trans panic is still a legal defense in many states. Telling people that are already hurting to shut the **** up because bigoted people might feel alienated is really beyond the pale.

Trans people are not afforded equal rights just yet.

Sounds as likely as what you claim Trump does, so YES.

Let's not kid ourselves.

The Republicans under McConnell won't give Democrats the time of day; period. We know this as a fact because stonewalling is literally all they've done since they swept the Senate, and there was certainly no absence at trying to compromise per Obama. There's no way they'd let even something as unambitious as a public option pass into law.

The only way to enact any kind of substantive Dem policy is to oust the GOP at the polls; period.

People like McConnel were put in office to make sure nothing gets done. The gop has been telling us for decades this is what they would do but here we are now dealing with the consequences. Democrats are going to have to fight as hard as they can. McConnel has made it so this is the only option. The American system is fundamentally broken.

I have to say Harris and Buttigieg won last nights debate. They were well prepared and ran metaphorical circles around Biden, Sanders, and everyone else.

Out of the two debates, I thought Liz Warren, Julian Castro, Kamala Harris, and Pete Buttigieg were the most impressive and the best prepared.

I think Trump would have major problems in a presidential face-off with Harris. She's well prepared, articulate, professional, and her prosecutorial manner is a no-nonsense-take-no-prisoners style.

So you feel the 'Orange Man Bad' Hillary strategy worked then?

I think Kamala did great and was the clear winner, but it's one thing to take out Biden in one debate and entirely another to 'need to be the nominee'; that's quite a leap.

As a prosecutor and attorney general, her history was checkered and it surprises me at least a little that not one person dropped bombs on it; nonetheless it's a liability waiting to be exploited; perhaps during more intimate debates in a winnowed field: https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...ec8ed509d15_story.html?utm_term=.c06c6721b518 | Kamala Harris’s controversial criminal justice record, explained - Vox | The Two Faces of Kamala Harris

Yep, I voted for Trump over Hillary. And I will vote again for Trump-at THIS POINT-over any members of the Star Wars Bar cast.

You have nothing but nonsense that is just projection so thats all ya get puddin.

In other words, you don't have a legitimate point. I sort of figured that.

Huh? Nothing I said had anything to do with Hillary. Facts to back what up? My opinion of Amy Klobachur? I think we have a failure to communicate, lol.
