Jimmy Dore tells Progressive about RussiaGate

Everything Putin did and has done since taking power has been in order to secure control over the vast swath of Russian oligarchs, and in service to them, protection for their racketeering.

If there is any mention of possible other candidates, I don't find it in any of the discussions.
Sure as **** no one mentions Medvedev.

I don't think there's been any real chance to replace Putin since he was selected - he's an effective tyrant. The only real threat would be a foreign attack on him, which is not practical as far as I know. He could be assassinated presumably, but as you know there are many issues with that.

It appears that we are currrently locked in a death match to secure our own elections right at this moment, as you read this.
Tell me what you think the result will be if that struggle is not victorious.

Without free and fair elections, what can stop the progression to pure authoritarianism?
(with continuing "help" from Mister Putin)

In the long run, I find that there's a far greater danger represented by China in every conceivable dimension, from electoral to military to economic; one of the most concerning things about Putin is not his capability to undermine democracy in America (which seems largely to have been done via unflattering, one sided sunlight and social media ad buys/troll farms) so much as his ability to distract from Xi's encroaching empire.
