You missed his thumbs down on repeal and replace??? That was wildly popular with the left...

McCain has had bipartisan appeal through out his career, not always beloved but certainly respected for the sacrifices he made as compared to Twitter boy.

It didn't sit well with Republicans when he bragged about committing sexual assault either, but they made their peace with it a long time ago because Hillary. And they'll give him a mulligan on this one too because Hillary.

Then because Supreme Court...or liberal tears. Whatever. Asking what will cost Trump his base is like debating VHS versus Betamax. The question is an artifact of a bygone era.

All republican congress critters up for reelection are staying silent. They just don't make them like they used to. There was a time when congress critters at least had a backbone.

Not true. Many of us had differences on policy but we never stooped to denigrate his service and sacrifice in the Hanoi Hilton.

Please recall the thread title is a question. I don't know the answer. I do think attacking McCain is risky for Trump. SCOTUS is a real ace up Trump's sleeve. Lots of conservatives stick with him just for that.
