25,000 complaints of feces

6,888 complaints of feces per square mile in the Tenderloin

Glen Park saw the largest increase of feces at 205%

Some of Our Key Findings this Year Include:

In 2018, SF311 received 28,315 animal/human waste complaints, 35% more than the previous year. As of November 6th, SF311 has received over 25,000 animal or human waste complaints this year, around 7% more than the same period in 2018.

The dirtiest neighborhoods, with the most amount of poop complaints, are currently located in the city center areas of San Francisco. Tenderloin has been on a winning streak for the “poopiest neighborhood” contest for the past three years. The neighborhood saw 8,644.2 animal/human waste incidents per sq mi in 2017, 7,722.8 in 2018, and 6,887.9 so far in 2019. [2019 Poop Map]

Glen Park saw the largest increase in terms of number of animal/human waste complaints from 2017 to 2018. In 2017, the neighborhood received 20 complaints, or 29.9/Sq Mi. This number jumped 205% to 61, or 91.2/Sq Mi in 2018.

The number of poop complaints has steadily risen in the past few years, around 80% increase since 2011.[Figure 1]
October 2018 was the worst month since the city started logging poop complaints. San Francisco received 3,854 animal/human waste complaints that month.[Figure 2]

If that's what you think the left does, I would say you're not a swing voter

So someone who might vote for a republican or a democrat this next election would automatically approve what the extremist government in SF does?

Whenever I visit San Fransisco, it seems nothing like what DP right-winger's report. I wonder why that is.

:thinking

Very nice city, including parts that were more dumpy even just 10 years ago.

It's going to get worse. They just elected Chesa Boudin as the new DA. Chesa is the son of Weathermen criminals who murdered two people during a Brinks truck robbery. His dad is still in prison for pretty much life. He has never prosecuted a case and in fact is a progressive lawyer who champions defendants' rights.

He has vowed to end the "lock 'em up" policy the city takes to crime. Of course the city already defacto decriminalized petty theft a few years ago so I can only imagine what he thinks should be done next. He opposes and will instruct his office to never ask for "cash" bail because it unfairly punishes the poor. Of course people have a right to bail so I guess that means more ankle bracelets and ROR bail.

I don't know if this will affect the homeless bum explosion in SF. It was already not doing anything about that, so it's hard to do less than zero.

Same here. I'm in SF often. I never have to dodge piles of ****. There are sketchier and poorer and dirtier parts, but I just don't think of it as any worse than any other major American city.

You said, this is what happens when the left takes over. I don’t think is an issue of left wing politics. I think CA is having a growing homeless and displaced population, because average people can’t afford a home or apartment. Then there are other issues with urban planning, and issues all cities have. I work in property management and development. Pet poop is a huge issue, but we are creating public waste stations in communities. Everybody has a dog now. I wouldn’t say it’s definitely an issue of political party.

That’s not surprising.

My company builds luxury apartments and business real estate. Dog poop is a concern, because everybody owns a dog and young people want dogs instead of kids.

Last time I was in Paris they had a huge dog poo problem, too. It was everywhere, especially on the sidewalks. A lot of people wear expensive shoes there, too. lol But one thing they did have that maybe San Francisco could think about is they had these cute little tube like structures on almost every street that men could go in to urinate so they wouldn't do it on the buildings, sidewalks or out in the open. There was a sad, funny little Italian film about that called "Bread and chocolate" about a poor Italian immigrant who kept getting busted for urinating out in public because there was no where else for him to go.

Dog poo seems to be about the only thing my local Nextdoor.com neighbors ever talk about...that and lost dogs.

This is what happens when the left takes over.

The left are in charge in the best places in the world to live. Homelessness and drug addiction can't be laid on the doorstep of the left. In fact, the right resists any measures that might help the problem. Any measures that wouldn't involve just moving them out into a different jurisdiction anyway.
Go ahead, tell the class how the left makes this stuff happen.

What should they do about homeless bums?

My youngest son just spent a week in Monterey and Carmel. He said all the uber drivers were old retired guys driving uber's to pay their property taxes so they don't have to sell the house. sad really.

Lost dogs? Maybe the homeless are eating them.

All of them. And he had that level of conversation with each of them.

DId all of these old retired guys struggling to pay their property taxes explain to your son what proposition 13 was?

I asked him that exact question. He said it struck him as so unusual that in Carmel all the uber drivers were old retired guys, when in many cities he travels to they are often young, foreign, or both. He asked each driver, who appeared to be white middle class retirees, why they decided to drive for Uber. To a man they said property taxes.

BTW: prop 13 must not be working too good, at least not in Carmel.

A lot of homeless people here seem to have dogs. And vets have been volunteering to help keep their little buddies healthy. It's all kind of touching, really. So I'm pretty sure they're not eating dogs...or at least most of them aren't. lol

From my observation, the lost dog problem in my area seems to be coming from dog sitters...people who take care of other peoples dogs and letting them escape. Whats sad is often times the owners are helpless to go look for them because they're out of town on vacation. So take care with dog sitters is all I gotta say.

Depends when they bought their homes. If they are old retired guys that cannot afford property taxes....something does not fit. Did they recently buy a house they could not afford?

Or did he buy they house along time ago with insufficient retirement resources.

Something about the whole scenario does not seem realistic. I mean getting primarily old retired uber drivers that cannot afford property taxes who are willing to share their personal information with a perfect stranger.

Seeing that median home prices in Monterey and Carmel are probably in the 800 to a million plus in that area, perhaps the problem is not needing to drive an uber, it is about figuring out a better place to retire. If living in a high cost area is worth the uber job.....then that sounds ok.

Sounds like a failure of capitalism to me.

We must live in the same neighborhood. Nah, I get some good stuff on my Nextdoor. Check out this one from Halloween:

To the person riding a horse on Jay road today dressed in black and wearing a pumpkin on your head - You made my day - Thank you for being you

Care to list which leftist policies cause people to poop in the street? Is it because they welcome people from, say, Mexico who bring all that spicy food? Or do you blame the free market and housing speculation? The tech industry for driving up housing costs? Gov. Reagan for closing mental health facilities?

Wouldn't that be funny if we did? That's a good one for Halloween. Sometimes there's interesting stuff on my Nextdoor. Not too long ago, there was a lot of talk about some old guy that liked to expose himself and apparently he'd been doing for it years because some people seemed to know who he was or had seen him around. But someone must've finally turned him in because I saw an article about him. But mostly it's about missing dogs and cats and people looking for someone to do work around their home or seeking hairstylists, nail salons, etc. But there's a book club that a lady is just starting that I might be interested in...but so are a lot of other women, so it's probably all filled up by now.
