Plenty of members here list their lean as "Centrist".

A few members, yourself for instance, don't fit into any category besides annoying.
 
On DP "centrist" usually means "I fancy myself in the center, but operationally I'm on the left."

Conservatives know they are on the right. Liberals believe they are the center.
 
Of course, as always, it depends on subjective definitions

My definition

Someone who accepts or appears to accept (usually the latter, it seems) a view normally held by the opposition..for God only knows what reasons but usually (with politicians) for political gain
 
Yes. Nearly everyone with interest in politics has chosen a certain ideology they are going to follow. However people who are claiming they are centrist simply don't want to speak out on any issues.

Centrists, to me, are like middle-of-the-roaders who stand there because they don't want to be run over if they move to either side.
I am certainly Right of center because I don't want someone like a Joe Biden kowtowing to China, the W.H.O., to dumba$$ AOC and her crockpot climate plan, to Pelosi with her open borders idea, to the BLM and any ideas about reparation, to entertain raising taxes while we are in a recession, and to joining the Paris Climate Accord as if they know what they are doing over in Europe.

We have the BLM brainwashing us trying to convince us we are a racist nation.
We have AOC with a climate plan designed to destroy our economy.
We have Biden preparing to kowtow to China, rejoin the Paris Climate Accord, and kiss W.H.O.'s butt.
People with half a brain know how those policies can seriously hurt us.

Of course it means nothing in a two party system. If nothing truly means enough to you to pick sides in a field filled with candidates from these two parties then apparently you really don't give a damn about anything at all except not giving a damn about anything. Its obvious where the two parties lie and what they do in office. If you are on the fence then either you don't really understand what happens when one side wins power or you don't pay attention. Say you like low taxes most of all and are willing to accept anything else to get them. Vote for the GOP. Say you think women should have the right to choose, vote Blue. But if you don't have any core beliefs and just waffle in the wind then you are a centrist, a flag that blows whichever way the wind blows.

That's literally what it means. What makes a person a centrist is (by definition) that they go along with whatever opinions happen to be in vogue at a particular moment.

On the other end? That radical socialist leftie, Bernie Sanders, is really just a mainstream liberal.
