Hahaha no.With Trump's low approval ratings, are you one of the people in this article that still approve of him?
Yes, Trump is off to an unpopular start. How does this WaPo article relate to YOUR reality?
There is that. Anybody who was forced to do any highway driving at 55 MPH and waiting in a blocks long line on even days for your 10 gallons of gas deserved a well made brewsky or 6 when they finally arrived at their destination.
i bet you were not even alive then, and did not even know its meaning.
and you would be wrong
not long after Carter imposed the thermostat control program i played softball against him. got my wish to be on billy's team

Carter was an excellent statesmancarter was terrible president .and thats why America got rid of him.

at a time when cars were lined up for blocks to fill their tanks
an era when your license plate ending in an odd or even number determined the day of the week you could buy gas

Carter was an excellent statesman
not a very good politician
the opposite of the fellow who followed him into the white house
The only thing I remember positive about the Carter administration is that he did bring back some honor and dignity to the White House after it was bastardized with corruption.
Other than that, not much.
anybody know who was president when those interest rates spiked in the early 80's

carter lead this nation down a bad road because like you i was there and lived through it, America was happy to throw him out

just like America was willing to elect the orange liar in chief
a very weak barometer of Presidential performance
Using even/odd auto tags as a basis for gas rationing began during Nixon's 2nd term.
Yeah. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.
Who would of thought a lyric line in a WHO song would become immortal?
It is immortal because it is simple truth, an artistic expression of reality in a certain sense, and it transcends generations.
Carter served from 1977. I believe even odd began in 1979.
Do you have an aversion to using Google as a search engine? I got my first Driver's License in 1971. I remember the first round of odd/even rationing in early 1974. If you research effectively, then own up to a misconception, you display humility and honor.
Rationing reoccurred during the Carter era in 1979.
Some states used even, odd during Nixon. I don't believe it was Federal law.
I got my first drivers license in 1954.

]paragraph copied and pasted from Wikipedia - In 1973, Nixon named William E. Simon as the first Administrator of the Federal Energy Office, a short-term organization created to coordinate the response to the embargo.[35] Simon allocated states the same amount of domestic oil for 1974 that each had consumed in 1972, which worked for states whose populations were not increasing.[36] In other states, lines at gasoline stations were common. The American Automobile Association reported that in the last week of February 1974, 20% of American gasoline stations had no fuel.[36]
Oregon gasoline dealers displayed signs explaining the flag policy in the winter of 1973–74
Odd–even rationing allowed vehicles with license plates having an odd number as the last digit (or a vanity license plate) to buy gas only on odd-numbered days of the month, while others could buy only on even-numbered days.[37]
In some states, a three-color flag system was used to denote gasoline availability at service stations—green for unrationed availability, yellow for restricted/rationed sales and red for out of stock.[38]
Gasoline ration stamps printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in 1974, but not used.
Rationing led to violent incidents, when truck drivers chose to strike for two days in December 1973 over the limited supplies Simon had allocated for their industry. In Pennsylvania and Ohio, non-striking truckers were shot at by striking truckers, and in Arkansas, trucks of non-strikers were attacked with bombs.[36
