I'm just about fed up with Bill Maher

Agreed his guests are horrible, usually, but his new rule segments are usually spot on. Case in point

I think people who look like these guy's should be rounded up and taken off the streets, except for the guy on the bottom right..He looks like he's nice!

I'm GLAD he has the guests he has. The Trumpers can't claim that he doesn't allow conservatives on the show.
They can't claim he's one-sided either.
They can't claim he's a partisan hack either.

I think you should have to pass a back round check to be able to access certain sites on the internet as well as owning smart phones. Anybody under 18 can have a flip phone for communication purposes only.

Colbert has better guests. IMO IDK, I just can't stand Maher's interview style, but his monologue and new rule segments are perfect every time.

Are you kidding me? have you actually watched his show? He is absolutely a partisan hack. He just doesn't come off as a disturbed person like most of the libs.

It's fun to watch the Trumpettes defending him here. Usually, he's critical of Trump and they hate him as they hate everybody who doesn't worship at his feet.

Trump sued him and he lost. Then years later the idiot "accidentally" watches Maher and blows up at a guy who used to work for him for a week b/c he doesn't like Trump anymore. I don't even think Maher's writers could have wrote that bit. But if they did it was awesome!

If you want to see good show's watch Louder with Crowder or The Ben Shapiro Show.

I think Bill Maher is a smart guy and a funny comedian. It's been a long time since I've seen his show or his stand up, so I did look at the links in the OP. I don't agree with all he says, but he is funny, those links weren't the best examples of his shows though, in my opinion. He's a long ways away from a far-right MAGA hat wearing republican though. :2razz:

Crowder is pretty good sometimes. I love his 2nd Amendment youtube video. The rest? Blech too biased for my taste.

:lamo That damn white supremacist, alt-right Bill Maher!

Maher's strategy as an actor is simple - to say anything, anything at all, for publicity. He has always done so as that is his profession. Thus, he thanks you for your support.

Yeah, the guy used to host a show called “politically incorrect.” I don’t get where anyone got the idea that his ideology revolves around anything else.

And I've never been all that politically incorrect. I figure if who and what I am is that important to somebody they will study my actions rather than judge whether or not I used the politically correct lingo du jour, which changes as often as the weather in Oklahoma.

Since political correctness centers largely around the use of speech to symbolize one's values, it reduces words to mere one dimensional symbols, thoughts to clumsy semaphores and ideas to just so much mutual masturbation.

And too much obsession with politically correct speech is no different than coming home with sacks of food the type of which you know you will never eat, but purchasing it made you FEEL good about yourself.
You know that the kim-chee you bought will sit in the fridge for six months after you tried a spoonful, you know the Quinoa tastes like drywall, you know that the snappy kale is going to turn brown and you know that the flaxseed cereal and the vegan cauliflower brownies will remain untouched, but you felt good picking them off the shelf, and you can't wait for others to see them in your cupboard.

The guy just needs to come out of the closet right now as a right-wing Republican and wear his MAGA hat on this show. Here's a review of some of his most recent stuff.

Just what's this guy's deal?

Uh he's a comedian?

He is, but he also does discuss actual political opinion and policies. It's hard to know where to draw the line sometimes, but it's clear that Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren isn't his first pick. He's much more a fan of the Clinton / Obama / Biden types.

Four things that made me stop watching Bill Maher:

First, he stopped being funny when he started taking himself waaaaaay too seriously. Even in his "comedy" specials. Which is interesting since being funny is how he got to be where he is now. Although, his movie "Pizza Man" was pretty bad...be DID kill Trump in it...YouTube .

Second, he's a libertarian. He was NEVER a liberal as many think he is. As such, he ping pongs politically. Dealing with a libertarian is sort of like dealing with a "sovereign citizen"...they both live in that la-la land where everyone doesn't need so many laws, rules and regs because intrinsically, all people are good and will do the "right thing". The belief that it is law and order that causes criminality and bad things and that if people are left to their own devices, they will naturally choose to do the right thing. Not.

Third, he gives atheists a bad name. I'm not an atheist. Most atheists I know aren't of the militant variety that Maher is. Maher takes his atheism to a level of anger and I'm not sure where that anger stems from. Yeah, there's frustration with a$$hats who use religion for their own justifications of violence and hate, but Maher's level of atheism is actually hate towards religion. Most of my atheist friends often say the following when Maher is brought up, "I wish he would stay off my side..."

Fourth....he dated Anne Coulter. This is not a joke, nor made up...he dated Anne Coulter in the early 2000's, both calling it off in 2002. Now, to be clear, I mean dated in its real sense in that they went out on dates and such, but there was never going to be any sense of serious, romantic ties between the two. Even so...that is enough for me to not want to take him seriously.

And you guys wonder why everyone thinks you're fascists...

...There's only one food on that list I recognized, the cauliflower. God, I'm such an uncultured peasant.

He's a parody of himself.

I used to like Bill, and sometimes still do on certain topics, but he really is full of himself.

He is a legend in his own mind. Not nearly as smart or perceptive as he thinks he is.

Maher is on record as saying he wants an economic recession just so that it will hurt Trump. I mean, what's there for a left winger not to like? There's no pleasing you guys.

Who gives a damn what anyone thinks of Bill Maher, Sean Hannity, or Tucker Carlson? That's why televisions come with a remote control. You can select what you want to see or not.

Yeah, but it's fun to talk about them! I do agree with Bill that the Dems have to be a little tougher - not too easily bullied into apologizing or resigning. I agree with him that Al Franken should have stuck it out and not caved to pressure. If the Dems are going to be successful, going forward then they've got to learn to be cheaters and street-fighters like the GOP.

He's opinionated - he runs an opinion show. Like I said in a previous post, he doesn't belittle people with whom he disagrees - unlike Tucker and Hannity!

Imagine that. A liberal who's not in idiotic lock-step with AOC. What's the world coming to?
