I'm just about fed up with Bill Maher

Yeah, but it's fun to talk about them! I do agree with Bill that the Dems have to be a little tougher - not too easily bullied into apologizing or resigning. I agree with him that Al Franken should have stuck it out and not caved to pressure. If the Dems are going to be successful, going forward then they've got to learn to be cheaters and street-fighters like the GOP.

I disagree that they need to get as dirty as the GOP, but they definitely need to stop being spineless cowards. Bernie, especially during this current campaign, is a really good example of being combative when it's needed and when it's appropriate, and using leverage in a way that's not unethical or illegal or "cheating".
