The author's point is that Trump is unstable and undemocratic. If all of the "resistors" leave the White House, then the conservative agenda will die on the vine (or the Tweet), because Trump is incapable of executing it.

If I was a democrat I would hope if my democratic president was this incompetent, immoral, mentally ill, and downright corrupt I would see it in myself to want him or her out of office. The only precident I see here is we should not tolerate a president like this.

Trump has no actual concept of country, despite his nationalist words. The only loyalty he cares about is one-sided loyalty to Trump.
