Yep. If there is evidence then there should be an investigation, but this is more of the old Cohn strategy of attacking your attackers and creating confusion in order to draw attention away from the one under investigation. Trump's original comment about China looking into the Bidens had nothing to do with evidence of wrong doing; it was just grasping for straws publicly. I think a fair question to ask is why resign now? Currently his father is a private citizen. Why not pledge to resign at the end of november 2020 if his father is elected. The kinda money he makes another year is significant

By your standard Trump's children should have resigned their positions as well since the Trump Organization does business with foreign governments. One could easily state that a president could influence business decisions. What I wonder about in the case with Hunter Biden, is if he received pressure from the board since companies don't like this kind of negative attention. When a board member is under any cloud of suspicion, it's not uncommon to see them resign. Also, resigning wouldn't change anything if there's actual malfeasance involved since he could still be prosecuted for any wrong doing.
