How much time until the wealthy wring the last of the wealth from the rest of us?

The top 20% of Americans own over 70% of the wealth of this nation and that percentage is growing. The bottom 50% of Americans own 1% of the wealth of our nation and that is decreasing. Most middle class Americans, those that are left, have most of their wealth tied up in the equity of their homes, which if they are unable to pay their mortgages because of the Covid epidemic, may soon disappear. The wealthy and the GOP constantly talk about our tax system redistributing money and wealth from the wealthy to the poor, but if the wealth distribution in our country is any kind of gauge, that is not true. Wages in this country have remained about the same when you look at inflation for about 30 years, and yet during that time the wealthy have gotten wealthier. So at what time or how long will it take with low wages until the wealthy of this country have wrung all of the wealth of the country from those who do not belong to their "class"? And please do not argue that the wealthy are not a separate class in this country.

The wealthy wont be able to do the if you get a JOB and keep the money for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you democrats "independents" have been crying this since Andrew Jackson.

Now please do not go there again. First they no longer pay 70% with the new tax cuts and that is only one part of the story. If you look at all of the taxes we pay including sales taxes, property taxes, state income taxes, taxes we pay on our cell phone uses, license plates and driver's license, FICA, Medicare taxes, a family of four making 40 grand a year pays a greater percentage of their income in all taxes than someone making a million dollars a year. I know non economics Trumpsters like to point only to the Federal Income tax, but it is only one of many taxes we pay. Just so you know i have a degree in economics and an MBA.

The way I see it in layman terms, the real income and tax burden should be looked at by individual.

The 1%ers individually by the current tax structure, that they bought from political influence, allows them to have more personal wealth individually then the 99%.

The 1% that control most of America's money contribute a smaller tax percentage individually than that of the 99%.

The Reaganomics claim that the 1% need to keep more money to create jobs only works if that is what they do.

The problem, most do not. Most 1%ers and corporations reinvest in their shareholders, are fast to downsize or sell a company if the other 1%ers aren't making huge profits in the Market.

There is plenty of evidence out there that the 1% are more concerned with making more personal wealth than creating policy to enrich monetarily and lifestyle of the working men and women

You clearly have not seen how big money is made most of the time.
Yeah, I have. And I know it's not the LW fair stories and class warfare mantras you guys spout.

Jealousy that they are psychopaths that think that eventually enough money will make the human. I look at the family that own Walmart. They all have billionaires and yet many of their employees are on Medicaid for health insurance and get food stamps because their employer makes sure they do not get enough hours to collect benefits. So middle income tax payers are paying for those employees to have food and insurance so the Waltons can get richer. Yet they want for their corporations and themselves to pay less in taxes and GOPers think that some of that money will someday trickle down to them. And they are not the only ones.

I'm in business. Was in retail for decades. These businesses need a certain number of employees to staff their business ever day. In order to achieve that, they have to hire a bunch of part time people so that when bunches call off, they have bunches they can call in to work. And, many of these people only want to work part time to begin with, for example, single mothers who can only work during school hours. They also hire young workers going to school and elderly who don't want full time. I hired a Burger King manager once for a retail business I used to manage. He told me that at his location he needed 20 workers to work the lunch shift so they would put 40 on the schedule so that when 20 people called off or didn't show up or whatever, there were still enough people left to run the operation. You can't run the operation by hiring all full time people because then you have half the number of employees so if several don't make it in, you don't have enough other people to fill in during those times, and, they are already working full time. That's just the way it is, it isn't some sinister plot cooked up by the Waltons.

Stealing from the Rich?

Please explain. I assume you feel paying taxes is stealing?

Well it is the cost of living in this great country. It is the cost of doing business in this great country.

Of course you do have a choice.

Taxes have varied wildly throughout this country's history. Last time the top marginal tax rate was this low was the Hoover days. Income inequality the same time period. It always ends in disaster.

If you force the rich who are already paying more than their fair share to pay more in taxes and then you turn around and use those taxes to give to the poor then, yes, you are stealing from the rich.

So, you think it should be even-steven? So do I. So, do I get that same breaks or do they stop getting them? Which should we do, either way, is good.
For instance, If the pond by my house looks like a good place to dump my garbage and waste, can I get the government to bend or end the clean pond policy for me?

Let's just make it even then.

As a small company, with 5 workers, I get nowhere near the tax, and policy breaks that big business gets.
Why, because I don't have lobbyists I pay to get them, nor can I donate a ton of money. That's not a fair system, it's crony capitalism and it turns our government into an oligarchy. Might as well just have family money picking our leaders.

What? Can you repost in English please? But, for the record, we need mega rich people and we need mega poor people and everyone in between. It's been that way since the caveman days.

LMAO sure.

Please make up your mind. Do you deny what I said? If so, then you are admitting that we have no problems.

Reply to what exactly? We need the mega-rich to rule over policy of the mega poor and in between because that's how it's always been?

Your post seems silly, like a "mega" joke. I replied with an appropriate laugh.

You're so clueless it would take a week to inform you through type. Crony Capitalism started in the 70's.
You obviously know nothing about it.

Educate yourself, if you dare, and then we can talk. I picked the shortest explanation I could find. Otherwise, it's a big waste of your time and mine.

I'm not watching any lefty propaganda. Why is it you people don't think I've never seen your leftist propaganda before? Posting it a million times doesn't change the fact that it is leftist propaganda.

Itś not from the left, nor the right. I see you're on a team, that's a shame because people on teams rarely take the time to learn about life, they're too busy playing the game.

Well, I have little patience talking with a representative of a team, who doesn't have the knowledge to understand what I am referencing. Surprisingly a very dedicated republican congressman fought against crony capitalism, but Trump's team isn't republican or democrat, it's the nationalist team and I find most I talk to are ignorant when it comes to problems in government, and their platform is just believing what they hear from Mr. Trump and repeating it ad nausea. So, good luck with that.

You are on team left.

You are on team left.

Nope, I'm not. I've voted for both. It depends on what they're policies are and how many favors they need to payback. I did not vote for Hilary although in hindsight I probably should have. But, you are a teamer and that comes from your own mouth, and therefore you will assume what you want, even if it doesn't come out of my mouth.

That's why it's useless to converse, yet you keep on trying.
