Great news! Remington files for bankruptcy

Would this be a problem for any baseball bat manufacturer, knife manufacturer, blunt object manufacturer, chemical manufacturer, etc. etc.? Or does your position only apply to gun manufacturers?
Only gun manufactures gfm.

The intended purpose of a gun is to end another's life. The intended purpose of a baseball bat is to hit a baseball.
Well Bucky, that's odd because a few times my son went to the door with his hand on a Louisville Slugger, and I doubt if he was gonna ask the person to play a game of baseball.

Are you serious, do t=you think that if they do go belly up that there will be no more guns? That's like saying if Ford and GM go belly up that Toyota won't fill the void.
Well our little buckaroo doesn't think that far ahead.

I call complete BS.

"Stop the threat" means to kill. If a criminal was intent on killing you, are you telling me your self-defense guns wouldn't "stop the threat?"
I think what he's telling you is that calling 911 and then throwing your phone at him/they sure as hell won't stop them. Unless of course they gotta catch their breath from laughing. In other words they can stop or pay the penalty.

I am here to talk about guns, not cars or knives, or baseball bats.

Why is it that anytime someone pro-gun control wants to talk about guns, the subject always gets changed to automobiles and drugs?
Then why were you going on and on about electric cars?

I bought a Remington rifle today, in honor of this thread. I'll probably buy another one next year, since Remington isn't going anywhere.
I agree 100% I want one to in honor of this. Send you my FFL.:lamo Well it could happen.

It seems you are behind the times. You do realize tesla have been out for a while right?

I am currently on jury duty and don't want to get caught so I'll address your points soon.

I do... and okay.

You really should start a driverless cars thread.
We own a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which is now the vehicle Google is using to test their Waymo autonomous platform.
The Pacifica AS IS, is already 85% autonomous right off the showroom floor. Google's Waymo is the test bed that provides the other 15% percent.
In about three years they'll be offering a version of Waymo to the market.
My wife, being a 100% service connected disabled vet, is already in line to take delivery.

And I'm sure it will all magically work perfectly and be absolutely wonderful once it comes out and be readily available to everyone and won't cause any problems...

Since this is a gun thread, I'm going to minimize my response:

A lot of what you're saying has already been asked and answered. You're a wee bit behind the times.

I realize others have asked a lot of those questions (not all and I have more questions beyond what I listed), but I really don't think everything has been perfectly answered yet or will work like people think it will work...

Smith & Wesson, Sturm, Ruger, Sig Sauer, burn all those companies into the ground.

It baffles me how these CEO's and companies executives can sleep at night knowing their products is involved in the killing of innocent children and civilians. They literally have blood on their hands.

This is a great sign. The people are speaking. Good Americans don't want to give money to blood companies like Remington.

Well I don't care much for Remington. I don't buy Remington guns anymore, they don't make quality products like they did 20, 30 years ago.

As for gun manufacturer's products being used to kill innocent people, lets say I build a bridge and somebody jumps off it, should I be held responsible?

Smith & Wesson, Sturm, Ruger, Sig Sauer, burn all those companies into the ground.

Smith & Wesson and Ruger are here to stay. They are both very strong companies especially Ruger and I am thinking of buying Ruger stock, both their common stock and the stocks that come with it when you buy a Ruger long gun. Sig Sauer also from what I understand is a very strong company but Ruger is definitely going to be around for a very long long time and will be a very strong company for a very long long time, perhaps for eternity.

They can't stay afloat because, in our capitalistic society, they cannot create a profit despite being popped up by the NRA and second amendment loons residing in Congress, the Senate, and courts.

I am an investor but certainly would never support the killing of innocent civilians and children. When companies like Remington do good, that means gun violence increases. Those guns circulate in the hands of criminals.

Please don't drive any vehicle. They have and do kill innocent people. At times vehicles are the choice weapon of terrorists and other criminals. Even electric vehicles can be used to kill.

Good grief. Your OP and some of your responses are just not well founded in logic or reality. Sorry.

Nobody says that status cant change and that you shouldnt be prepared to make sure that status continues.

Unfortunately, war is the way of mankind.

I'd also LOVE to get into a conversation about driverless cars, since you brought up how good they will be for our society...

How will THOSE work exactly? GPS technology?

Can we depend upon it to be accurate and reliable?

Are we going to switch ALL cars over to driverless, or keep manually driven cars on the road along with driverless ones?

How expensive will driverless cars be?

Who's fault will it be when there are accidents? The manufacturers? I see many lawsuits arising from driverless vehicles...

Will they be able to adjust for rain/snow/sleet/hail/ice/etc.?

Will they be able to detect water running across a road (after intense rainfall), or a deer darting out in front of the vehicle, or a snow drift in the middle of the road on a windy day (and be able to adjust for it)?

Would it be able to detect if a tire suddenly popped or became flat while driving?

Again, I could go on and on with my concerns, but I think you get the point... Well, I don't, but anyone else with an open mind would get the point...

Then start a new thread.

Because YOU YOURSELF brought them up first... Were you or were you not engaging in conversation about electric and driverless vehicles in many earlier posts in this thread before I came in and had some questions for you about their viability. All of a sudden you now refuse to talk about them with me and are "here to talk about guns"... odd...

Must be the 30mm I have mounted on a tripod in the back of my old Willys station wagon. Doesn't work, but it sure does start conversations. And no one cuts me off, or flips me the bird when I take it on the road. One day, I'll find a steep enough hill to get it past 25mph. The only station wagon ever made with a rumble seat.

Just put a Democrat in the White House and gun sales will bounce back lmao.

Remington and Bushmaster are not the same company.

Adam Lanza's mother bought the gun. Are you suggesting that middle aged single mom's are high-risk individuals, or that Bushmaster had a middle-aged mom marketing campaign?

I was particularly impressed at Buckie's ignorance on the subject.
