Oh.. so where is the Judiciary Committee in all this?

Those like Matt Gaetz are out there scratching their heads in confusion as to how to attack the investigation.

One would suspect if there are criminal issues involved, they would need to be involved.
That they aren't...

Giuliani says he won't comply with subpoenas from Democrats

Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that he won't comply with a congressional subpoena for documents and communications related to House Democrats' impeachment inquiry.

Giuiliani, who is President Trump's personal attorney, told ABC News that he will "see what happens" if Democrats enforce the subpoena. The deadline for complying is Tuesday.

Lawyer, my eye. He's not done a single legal thing for Trump. He's just a fixer & spokemouth. But he has a law degree & years of experience prosecuting criminal villains like Bess Myerson so he should understand what the inside of a Federal lockup looks like.

Bess Myerson - Wikipedia (read the 'Bess Mess')/ Giuliani was 0 for 3 on that one.

I think that Congress needs to strengthen its enforcement remedies related to subpoenas and contempt. It's not going to happen with this Congress and president, but Congress should not be more powerless than a typical county judge. If a person refuses to provide documents to a court, that person can end up in jail. Trump and his army of demons shouldn't be able to just stick up a middle finger to Congress and flatly, openly refuse to cooperate and comply.

Anyone who didn't know earlier now knows why Trump has been in endless litigation for decades. Not only is he a crook, a liar, a cheater, and a criminal, but he also thinks the justice process doesn't apply to him.

When was complying with a subpoena optional? The party doesn't get to decline. If they do, it's contempt of Congress. I don't know if one can be disbarred for not complying.

Why don't you ask Holder?

A person who has himself as a client as a fool as a client.

Heh...I'm just a criminal dude playing an attorney dude playing an associate dude of some other criminal dudes.

Why don't you ask Holder?
That cuts two ways. If Republicans are claiming that Holder couldn’t ignore a Congressional subpoena in 2012, they can’t defend Giuliani now.

But it takes more than a noun, a verb and 9/11 to be successful.

Trump doesn't even have those 3 things and he's the president.

Due process has nothing with a congressional subpoena. If the subpoena is issued appropriately be the House, due process has nothing to do with it, in any way, shape, or form.
So why did you write about "due process"?

Because he doesn’t understand that due process doesn’t apply to investigative procedures.

They need to dust off inherent contempt. Likely too cowardly to use their authority in the face of such brazen abuse of executive power and insane unitary executive nonsense from Barr.
I mean, if they use crazy to oppose the nation...why can't the House use its property authority that has been held up by the courts to be appropriate as long as its a proper subpoena?

We'll have to construct barracks for the sergeant at arms if we want him to arrest everyone who tries to buck Congress. Or maybe we should just put bars on the WH windows.

Hah, I like it. Trump may get his walls after all.

Not even executive privilege. Attorney/client privilege kicks in as well.

There is no attorney/client privilege if the attorney engages in a crime or an attempt to conceal it.

Due process relates to being treated fairly when held for a crime. Rudy isn’t being held for a crime, so due process rights don’t apply. You are throwing around legal terms that you don’t understand.

Rudy’s life, liberty or property aren’t at risk since he’s merely a witness.

The right wing talking heads are on TV and Twitter, telling them that Trump and company are not receiving due process (doesn’t apply) because there was no vote to start the inquiry (unnecessary). He is relying on the low-information voters to believe everything he says, because they don’t know any better. Most people who are tossing about the words “due process” have no idea what it means, or when it’s applicable. You can thank Hannity and Mark Levin for that.

Those like Matt Gaetz are out there scratching their heads in confusion as to how to attack the investigation.

He’s too busy playing the victim, whining because he wasn’t allowed to crash hearings that he wasn’t a part of.

Do people not understand basic civics? 8th grade US Government?

Guiliani is doing to Schitff what Rosenstein did to republicans in the House in their investigation into Justice Department corruption.

Right wingers do have a tendency to lose track & wander off.

I keep mine on those baby leash things and leave them with plenty of fresh water when I go into the grocery store.

That they aren't...

No, Matt Gaetz's committee does not need to be involved. There are 3 separate committees that have it covered. The House Intelligence Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Oversight Committee. They're all doing just fine without Matt Gaetz.

Remember when Republicans didn't trust politicians, their staffs or lawyers?
