Maybe it is an maybe it is not....
Explain how it "might not" be a worthwhile goal.
Maybe it is an maybe it is not....
Maybe it is an maybe it is not....that depends upon how one feels about suicide....my objection is that manipulators are calling suicide "gun deaths of innocent people"....this is abuse of language and proof that the speaker is more interested in driving an agenda than they are in speaking truth....than they are in clarity.
While suicide is clearly not the only reason it's more dangerous to have a gun in the home than not there are a few issues around the act. For instance, it makes suicide much easier than ither methods. Another issue is efficiency. It's not unusual for someone to have second thoughts after taking pills or using other methods, but with guns, there us generally no turning back.
Guns in homes simply make it more dangerous to the family and their friends. For the most part, it's not worth it.
And studies on people who've survived suicide attempts show a significant number of those attempting suicide, do so quite soon after deciding to do so.

I’ll take the fabricated risk.
Same reson why we shake our heads in disbelief when a bullying victim takes their own life rather than stand up to their bullies.
Bullies and abusers pick specific people to victimize. So, while maybe you, me and 90% of this sub forum would blow the SOB’s head off, the victims either kill themselves or suffer in silence.
People who survive suicide failed a suicide ...were likely more interested in getting attention than success.....
That's an utterly stupid thing to say
You are clearly very young and/or have absolutely no experience dealing with suicidal people
Many people who survive a suicide attempt are overjoyed to have done so and most don't try again.
Learn something about a very sensitive topic before uttering any more stupid comments than can only make you look like an idiot.
In the US, three women used to be killed by an intimate partner each day. The figure is now up—closer to four women a day. At the same time, the number of men who are murdered by an intimate partner has declined.
The means to kill is gun-related and the “why” invites us to recognize how violence against women is closely connected to the growing sentiment of hate promoted by white supremacists.
The mainstreaming of white supremacy and domestic violence are closely connected. A recent New York Times article, “A Common Trait Among Mass Killers: Hatred Toward Women,” reported, “The motivations of men who commit mass shootings are often muddled, complex or unknown. But one common thread that connects many of them—other than access to powerful firearms—is a history of hating women, assaulting wives, girlfriends and female family members, or sharing misogynistic views online.” (Bosman, et al, Aug. 10, 2019).
Horrible combination: stress, booze and more guns, all while trapped inside with an abusive nut. What a nightmare.
Remember, the abuser's weapon of choice is a gun.
Guns and Violence Against Women: America’s Uniquely Lethal Intimate Partner Violence Problem
Now, the abuser has more guns, more "excuses" to lose his cool and a victim who cannot leave the house. There is a perfect storm brewing here for sure.
And what do you propose to do about it?
We already do that. Post #36 is tripe. Now we're blaming marginal gains in White Supremacy groups for increased domestic violence So, let me play devil's advocate for a second. If a domestic dispute gets violent is a woman more likely to survive if she has a gun or if she choses to duke it out with the man?Ban abusive morons from acquiring guns. Post 36 paints a nice profile of those who are likely to fall in that category.

Nice dodge. Typical. :roll:So, you asked the question just to spit out another worthless opinion. No surprise there.
...if a domestic dispute gets violent is a woman more likely to survive if she has a gun or if she choses to duke it out with the man?
It would depend more on the woman than the gun.
Abused women often take abuse for years without every fighting back or leaving.
And courts tend to convict woman of murder if they shoot their spouse and claim self defense because he was abusive.

It’s a real risk backed up by mathematics. Gun in the home substantially increases the chance of death in that home.
....to be clear; it more than outweighs the risk of an intruder killing you.
Nice dodge. Typical.
