Trump was told he Flynn was compromised, yet left him as National Security Advisor for another 2 weeks - all the while Flynn having direct access to the most classified information our government has. Third, the idea that ANY incoming cabinet level official can't talk to any foreign diplomat they are expected to be dealing with on a regular basis is utterly asinine. It's half the reason that there are two months between the election and the inauguration. That period is necessary for the outgoing administration to wrap up loose ends and the incoming administration to get their feet on the ground.

They issued a request to the intelligence community: Anyone who had information on the topic was invited to offer it for consideration.

In response to that request, the FBI queried our own holdings. We came across information indicating that General Mike Flynn, the president-elect’s nominee for the post of national security adviser, had held several conversations with Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak, in which the sanctions were discussed. This information was something from December 29. I had not been aware of it. My impression was that high-level officials within the FBI’s counterintelligence division has not been aware of it.

There was a fairly common thread in the recently released transcripts from the HPSCI interviews and that was "one administration, one government". I can buy that idea, more or less, but the transfer of power from one administration to the next is supposed to be part of that "one government" concept. Unless either the incoming or outgoing administrations is actively working against the other then it should be a smooth transition, thus preserving our "one government". In the case of the Obama administration it looks like things didn't exactly go that way.

There is no LOGICAL reason that Flynn asking Russia to sit tight until after Trump's inauguration should be any problem at all. The ONLY reason it might have been a problem is if it was the intent of the Obama administration to coax Russia into an aggressive response to the sanctions. If that's what Obama had planned then...well, that isn't exactly upholding the Constitution to begin with.

I hadn’t seen these guys in a long time! I remember encountering one of these fake local news stories a few years ago. It didnt take much looking around to find out that there were a dozen of “Star” newspapers that were essentially run out of the same set of offices. That is pretty common amongst right wing blogs and right wing pressure groups.

I haven’t seen these guys in a while. But I have no doubt that they pop up regularly in the various twitter feeds of Trumpster types here, along with the Russian fake news and the homegrown version.

If its “exclusive”, they probably made it up first. Guys like this usually do.
