Do you support the goal of putting the first woman astronaut on the moon?

My opinion of going to the moon has nothing to do with the gender of the people potentially going there.

The moon is kind of a waste. There's lots of deuterium, but we don't have much use for that. The only thing going to the moon gets you is a large dose of radiation. Same with Mars (basically, you would arrive as a tumor in a suit). Right now, we should be relying on robots (the Mars skateboards) while we look for a way to shield crews. Blowing resources on a useless trip to the moon is a non-starter.

Send the most qualified people. Doesn't matter a damn which type of naughty bits they have or what they like do with them. Same for religion, ethnicity, etc.

Speaking of doing things with naughty bits... must be rather awkward to whack off in space. Just a thought.

Im all for it. I heard from Nasa plans to make it a longer trip too.

The moon is pretty much the same distance that it has been for the last 40 years...

Do you support the goal of putting the first woman astronaut on the moon?

I totally do. It’s really kind of amazing we haven’t landed on the moon in so long and, let’s face it, that has fueled some of the conspiracy theories about moon landings being hoaxes. We have much better technology now to document a moon landing and why not secure another spot in history for being the first and maybe only nation to put a women on the moon?

Attaching poll.

That is sexist against all non-white men...

You wanna go to the moon because of crazy conspiracy people?

Why not just buy a telescope. We left stuff on the moon.

It was taken up by remote unmanned craft...

Umm..... ok? Thats rather random.. i meant longer time on the moon

Women can barely drive a car and you want to let them try to fly a spaceship? What the ****?

I know. I just like being an obtuse asshole...

Yes, I fully support it. In fact, I have contacted NSA and recommended they consider my ex-mother-in-law. I explained that going to the moon for an extended period has been her lifelong dream. I told them that she is a humble woman and that no matter how vigorously she might protest she really wants to go.

I do not understand that this would even be a question. Am I missing something?

Stupid statement, if we are talking about actually flying - some of the best fighter pilots are women and the odds are when you fly commercial airlines your pilot may be a woman. I am a pilot and I have no problem with a woman at the controls. You do not "fly" a "spaceship" in the terms you are thinking in.

Amelia Earhart flew a plane and was never heard from again... getting lost, in fact. Not such a good track record.

That a woman accomplishing what a man has done is virtually impossible and will take much more money and possibly cost lives...

It is really inappropriate to belittle a woman like that... you might upset her.

Let’s stop this.
Let’s celebrate the accomplishments and not simply the gender or race.

Do you support the first black on the moon, the first Hispanic, the first gay, the first transgender, should the first women be a black lesbian women that way we can have a first in three categories.

Because gender is not an achievement. I agree that we should reboot our space program, moon landings as part of a larger goal of space exploration. Certainly as more astronauts reach the moon (and elsewhere), some of them will be women. Making the astronaut's gender the goal, however, is neither wise, moral nor praiseworthy.

It kinda matters when people were previously barred from entering the field. Shows others can do it too..

When was the last time a women was barred from the field. That would be 56 years ago. The first women in space was 1963.

I don't care one iota of which sex the next person is that sets foot on the moon. It is way long past the time to return. Returning is what is important to me, not the sex, race, religion etc. of who does it.

Speaking in general but good to know.

Educate your self, look up Earhart's accomplishments. I will give you a head start: she was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross for that. Are you being a male chauvinist just to troll for reactions or are you really that way?

Why don't we also celebrate the first woman to invent a light bulb, wheel, phonograph? That's the ticket! Reinvent the wheel so that we can say a woman did it!

Frank Luke and the Red Baron both got shot down. Ergo, males should not be fighter pilots.

That a woman accomplishing what a man has done is virtually impossible and will take much more money and possibly cost lives...

You should make grunting noises when you make posts like that.
