Despite Mitt Romney wins, both sides keep eying Jeb Bush

I don't think that Jeb would be able to be picked apart as bad as current GOP candidates and have to side with NP in that Jeb would strip Obama of crucial key states, not just one as he used for an example.

The only states I even see POSSIBLE of Jeb stealing would be Florida and Ohio. This could be dangerous considering the democrats usually need Ohio to win the general, however, Obama had such a landslide in 04 he could lose Ohio and still win big as long as he picked up Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado, PA, and Virgina, which I see happening. Obama will not be winning Florida this year (Florida is hurting BAD economically), I give him a 60/40 in Ohio.

I do not believe Obama has pinned down Ohio yet there is another one, maybe against the current GOP candidates, not so certain about Jeb.

I do not see Bush being more likely to get Ohio than Romney.

Obama can only speculate a win in Virginia & Pennsylvania. Jeb would be smart enough politician to be able differentiate between his governing & GW creating appeal.

No, not with Romney this is why Obama is happy with the current pool of candidates. Don't under estimate Jeb, he is a Bush. He wouldn't be appealing to the Obama crowd but he would for the Independents.

We shall see. One thing I know for sure if JB won he would deliver the critical state of Florida which McCain could not do.

The problem with that is that Florida really isn't so crucial. If Obama wins Florida, he has probably also already won Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia, almost guaranteeing him the election. Now its up for debate whether Jeb Bush or Romney would have an easier time prying those three states away, but I personally think Romney would be better. Coming out of a broken convention, I just don't see Bush having enough time to build a sufficient organization.

Jeb Bush seems like a decent guy and might even make a good president, but no one is looking for a third Bush to be president. Maybe in 20 years, but not now. Romney is the last of the old class of republican. There is a whole slew of republican governors that will be ready for the 2016 race for the White House.

Good point, maybe Jeb will start to see this and figure waiting until 2016 isn't the best political move, even though he would like to.

I wouldn't say 27 electoral votes is chicken scratch.

If Jeb would jump in, especially at a brokered convention his support would surpass Romney's and he just may have a good chance he could secure not only Florida but other key states. People claim they are burnt out on Bush, I am not so certain.

I totally agree, he would bring some real enthusiam to the Convention, a definite game changer...I am going to the Republican state caucas on Saturday as a delegate although I am and independent. I might start a call to draft JB.

God help the GOP.

LOL. What are you smoking? Between Bush Sr and George W Bush, I think the family has wore out their welcome in the Oval Office.

God help the GOP.

They need a shrink or something. God clearly is not helping them.

I didn't. I said its not crucial. And its not for the same reason that neither Texas nor California are crucial, they will not end up being the deciding factor in the election.

It just amazes me just how out of touch with reality the Cons have become. Bazooka aimed at foot...... Fire! (before it shoots first).

You mean the out of touch Repubs who almost swept the 2010 elections and won more seats then anyone in 50 years?

Yes, that group. America has had a front row seat to that freak show for long enough..... Which is why congress currently holds a 10% approval rating. The worse in history....i think that beats your 50 year statement. The tea party will soon be no more.

America is not ready for another president named "bush". The media would rape this man until he cried uncle. Why would a legitimate candidate want to get involved in this circus the GOP has going? Mitt Romney is the best bearded lady to "compete" in this general election. The GOP will save the big boys for 2012, well.....at least that's what any logical thinking establishment mind would think. Who do the dem's have in 2012? Joe Biden? Hillary Clinton will probably run, however, if history repeats itself, the GOP will have enough momentum to win one in 2012, but I dont see anything even possible to that scenario playing out in this general election, Obama will be a two term president, as he should be. I dont believe much can be done in 4 years time, anyone who thinks differently is out of touch with reality. It really pissed me off when Obama said "If I dont get things turned around quick, this will be a one term proposition." Of course I knew this wouldn't be possible, but I have heard crazier promises from past presidents....like nuclear weapons sitting in iraq. Presidents don't get real things done until their second term, its amazing how much can get done without the re-election weight sitting on your chest at all times. Bill Clinton turned from a sally into man overnight when he got re-elected, look what he got done.

Really, who says that? hey I see your avatar is JFK. Did you know he was a social and fiscal Conservative, approved one of the biggest tax cuts in history at the time and was pro life and capital punishment?

You have been called about this a million times. You know better. It ruins any point you might have. It completely fails to make a point. It's silly. You are better than this.

Sorry you don't like it redress but I like to remind people of Hussein Obama's shady past and I believe this is the best way to do it.......Don't worry the moment he drops that hideous name I will stop calling him that....

I don't write off seeing Jeb putting his feet up on the desk in the Oval Office. The Country is 50/50 and Jeb would net more than Romney, remember we are talking about the electoral college not popular vote, remember Al?

So since he had a conservative side that means I have no reason to support him? The democratic party was a much different party during his time, the entire nation was blue, conservative views meshed with liberal views, it was normal. There was no such thing as extremist views as we see today in politics, America is changing, probably for the worse.

That would be one down and 49 to go.

It was a Bush who helped get Obama elected the first time, maybe another will help him get reelected.

But, I seriously doubt that any new candidate will be drafted at this point. It's gonna be Obama vs Romney, and we'll wind up with Obamney one way or another

and not much will change after the election anyway.

I've already got my Obama/Romney avatar waiting and ready.

a very important battleground state that whoever wins the presidency always wins Florida.

Al gore won florida in 2000 and lost the election. can you sense the sarcasm?

Seems like to me I can recall that no one wanted a second Bush to be president either......

The only way Jeb Bush could get any votes would be a massive scheme to engage in widespread electoral fraud and prevent black people from voting. Lucky thing he knows how to do that...

In all seriousness, no one anywhere near the mainstream is giving any thoughts to Jeb Bush. The entire list is Obama, Romney, and Santorum. Even Ron Paul is only sort of part of the conversation, which is a shame. And Santorum and Paul will be off the list extremely soon.

Little history lesson for you my left wing friend. GWB won reelection in 2004 not Hussein Obama. He was in the Illinois Senate then voting present every time he could on political issues.

I agree. Sadly, this is already taking place with voter identification laws. The GOP knows they do better when less people vote, so they are doing their best to suppress blacks, hispanics, and poverty stricken voters who we all know tend to vote democrat. In my entire life I have never seen such an assault on American freedom. They have finally put a price on voting. Whats next? People will be turned away at the polls for making below a certain amount of money, nothing would surprise me in today's world.
