No I'm agreeing that the General Welfare clause can literally be defined at anything and no one on any side can definitively be called right as to what it means..

The left is for winding down our alleged wars to better provide for the general welfare since we don't have a general warfare clause.

How so? The Right thinks the Constitution is sacrosanct. I think it is a badly written text that needs revision as soon as possible.

For **** sake, NO I DON'T. The Constitution does by not restricting Congress's war waging powers in any way. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the Constitution.

We could be promoting the general welfare through faithful execution of our own at-will employment laws for unemployment compensation. A power to declare war will never solve simple poverty.

Nope. Thats another myth. The south was not going to accept anything, not even a constitutional amendment. Those mother****ers were never going to free the slaves by any means.

The Jim Crow south is still strong in places. All GOP states. Still trying to suppress the votes of minorities.

They do. I'm not Rightwing. It doesn't change the fact that "Promote the general welfare" is word salad. It means whatever who has the most votes in Congress decides it means.

The point was, our Civil War should have never happened since we have an eminent domain clause. I believe most of our woes are due to that disenfranchisement of the South.
