College Football 2019

In the rankings for this past week LSU eeek out Alabama by 2 points. Ohio State remained in 3rd but Alabama #2 is only 6 points over Ohio State.

So next week Bama and LSU are playing. Two great teams. Ohio State on the other hand is playing Maryland. I believe they call that one a cupcake. Clemson #4 also has a cupcake game. OSU time is still TBA. I hope it is early so I can watch the Bama vs LSU at 3:30 if not I will definitely be flipping between channels.

Cupcake is Clemson playing Wofford in week 8. I don't have a problem with putting an FCS team on the schedule but this late in the season is kind of odd. That usually happens in the beginning of the season to get your program on the right track with an early win.

Darn! Shucks! Dag-gum-it! Jacksonville FL, a neutral site, hosts the Florida Georgia game.

Georgia converted 12 out of 18 3rd downs, totally dominated the clock and beat my Gators 24 - 17.

Congratulations Bulldog fans! I did my part as a Gator fan; it pained me to watch that game! :3oops:

At least Miami beat FSU. Gator fans generally Love to Hate Florida State. Consolation smile!;)

Yeah I don't know if UGA's defense was good or if UF offense was just that bad. Can't tell. UGA's offensive line keeps getting touted as being soooo big and powerful but they aren't pushing the line very well in the running game. UF held that line. The good runs UGA got were around the ends. I love Fromm's leadership because it's like watching Peyton commanding the offense... but I'm wondering if we should've banked on Justin Fields and added that optional run threat if the pass wasn't there.

When FSU plays Miami I suspect the stadium is full of parole officers.

I was pulling for Noles. Oh wells.

Coach choke down in Miami will improve the record of the Hurricanes the longer he stays because he'll do what he does and start padding the schedule with more fluff games while continuing to lose to ranked opponents.

I was all set to watch the Bama/LSU game and the OSU/Maryland game yesterday and I had the wrong week. :3oops: It's next weekend. Boy was I disappointed.

Same with my DII college Valdosta State. Tuned into the streaming radio station for an evening game to hear nothing then looked it up again to notice it's their bye week.

Thanks for sharing letting me know I am not the only one.

Got a question. Tonight I learned OSU is now ranked #1, well here his how they have ranked the teams in Week 11.

2019 College Football Rankings for Week 11 | ESPN

1- Ohio State
2-LSU
3-Alabama
4- Penn State
5-Clemson

I am confused because Ohio State, Alabama and LSU all had Bye weeks. Clemson and Penn State both had a game and both won yet with all of that the top ranked teams that did not play switched position Ohio State going from 3 to 1. LSU went from 1 to 2 and Alabama went from 2 to 3. Hello? This doesn't make any sense to me.

Then you have Penn State jumping Clemson pushing Clemson to #5. And if you go to the link above you will notice they did not give the number of points separating any of the teams. I have never seen that before.

Makes sense to me just because of current strength of schedule and strength of victory. OSU looks insanely dominant. I am PISSED Georgia let Justin Fields go to OSU. Fromm is a dominant strategist like Peyton Manning commanding the line on the field but Fields is far better on the fly decision making after the snap and his legs are like Lamar Jacksonish. He's a passer who is an extra runner. If I were a gambling man, my money is on OSU for the #1 spot at the end of the season.

That said, at the end of the season should all of those ones you mentioned win out, will again switch places as Alabama faces Auburn and then, if they win, an SEC championship... the conference championships will be the deciding factor more than ever this season.

I am glad it makes sense to you but for me not so much. With LSU, Alabama, Ohio State all off (plus Clemson playing Wofford), there wasn't much opportunity for movement. But lo and behold there was much movement.

Fields is no doubt a valuable assets for Ohio State but Fields would not look so good if it wasn't for the ability for other players to execute the plays.

Strength of schedule changes as the season goes on. So if alabama got credit for having beat a ranked team earlier in the season, they lose some of that credit if that early ranked team keeps losing along the season. The other teams losses hurt Alabamas standing in strength of schedule. Not sure if thats the case here but that is how strength of schedule plays out.

The real test comes in a few weeks. Both OSU and Alabama play top ranked teams: Penn State and LSU.

OSU crushing Maryland.

MN has a good lead on PSU.

Alabama walked all over LSU on the opening drive and then fumbled in the red zone. Then LSU walked all over bama back the other way for a TD.

Early in the first qtr and bama has put multiple bullets in their own foot.

Half way through the first qtr

LSU 10
Bama 0

He just signed an extension, and I think he likes Minnesota.

He'll like the money elsewhere better I'm sure. And if Michigan loses two or three more games this year... Harbaugh could be sent packing.

Half-time: LSU 33 and Bama 13.

39-34 final two minutes. Hell of a tight game now that the blowout part of it has come to an end.

46-34 now, as the blowout commences.

That was no blowout. Heckuva game.
