Christian School Expels Girl for Wearing Rainbow Sweater on Her Birthday

Show me their school policy that dictates dress code off the clock and off school premises. And if you could (which you cannot) who in their right mind would except that. As somebody stated, right wingers cry and complain about left-wingers want to control everybody’s lives when its really fundamental Christians that try to dictate what people do in their private lives.

To be honest with you, I am not interested in their dress code. They have a code and they have a right to enforce their code and it is not my business to get between them and their enforcement of their dress code.

So what you're saying is that you have no issue with a private business legislating and dictating morality and personal choices of clothing and food choices while far away from their premises and off their clock. Very Nanny state. Ironic that this is the sort of thing that your crowd bitches that the left does.

Does she have a "punchable face" for the horrific offense of that Catholic kid who wore a cap that many progressives openly say is justification to minimally verbally harass someone?

So we know how you feel about this, please link to your messages critical of the accusations and harassment of that MAGA cap Catholic kid.
Your typical irrelevant retarded crap. You are consistent.

I feel fortunate that I do not possess a lifestyle.

Way to go girl, you escaped the asylum!

From an ABC affiliate [Interview with mother at the link, and you can see the cake receipt, which does not specify a rainbow design]:

Afterward, the school sent a letter to Kenney's family saying the 15-year-old was being expelled, effective Jan. 6, for "a continued breach of the Whitefield code of conduct, which was discussed in-person on October 17, 2019."

Alford said she also received an email, saying her daughter's behavior "demonstrates a posture of morality and cultural acceptance contrary to that of Whitefield Academy's beliefs." Alford said the daughter's email was in reference to the post on social media, while the school said Kenney violated the student code of conduct numerous times over the past two years.

...The school's code of conduct addresses sexual orientation and notes that a student's off-campus behavior must align with those beliefs or face disciplinary action.

"All parents who enroll their children in our private school know up front that we ask the students to adhere to a lifestyle informed by our Christian beliefs," the school said in a statement.

Whitefield Academy in Kentucky expels student for wearing rainbow shirt, having rainbow cake, family says | abc13.com

From MSN.com:

Jacobson, the Academy's head, says that expulsion came after "two years of continuous violations of our student code of conduct."

"Inaccurate media reports circling stating that the student in question was expelled from our school solely for a social media post," the school said in a statement. "In fact, she has unfortunately violated our student code of conduct numerous times over the past two years."

The school added that Whitefield Academy is accredited by ACSI/AdvaceED and a member of the Non Public School Commission of Kentucky, and therefore we meet all Kentucky regulations and laws. Our code is on pare [sic] with ther private Christian schools in our area. IT is unfortunate that one of the student's parents chose to post internal family matters on social media, and we hope our former student is not adversely affected by what her parents chose to make public about her situation." Thanks for the MSN linc. According to the mother the school has not always considered the rainbow to be linked to gay pride.
Alford added that the Whitefield Academy Parent Teacher Fellowship has even featured a rainbow image on its private Facebook page before later taking it down after the expulsion of her daughter.
This is what I mean by making up the rules as they go along. To paraphrase Dr. Freud, sometimes a rainbow is just a rainbow.

I am in favor of Christians and Christian churches and schools setting their own policies in accordance with their religious beliefs. If a student does not want to go by the rules of the school then the student is free to leave. I don't believe there is any legitimate justification for the US government to dictate dress code policies to Christian schools.

Whitefield Academy, a private Christian school, expelled 15-year-old freshman*Kayla Kenney*for having the*audacity*to celebrate her birthday with a multi-colored cake while wearing a rainbow sweater.

Because*everyone*knows what that really means.

We don't even know that she's gay. But hey, rainbows, OMG! Guess the Noah story doesn't mean anything to them.

Was there a dress code?

You're Ok with a private school dictating what students wear and their cake decorations decisions while off of their property and off the clock on their own personal time.. Of course you are.

It was a personal act to **** with the student and teach her a lesson.

Not one for off campus family birthday parties at a restaurant.
My bad. Didn’t read the article. Just assumed she was in school. Having apologized for that I support her right to wear whatever she likes outside of school.

Not one for off campus family birthday parties at a restaurant.

This is from nota's MSN reference:
A section on student behavior says Whitefield's "biblical role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students to be Christ-like."

"On occasion, the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home may be counter or in opposition to the biblical lifestyle the school teaches. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual immorality, homosexual orientation or the inability to support Biblical standards of right and wrong," the handbook states.

"… In such cases, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student."

Isn't this statement great? I personally wouldn't put my child in a school that thought it had the right to judge my home and life. This goes way beyond just a dress code. I don't think the parents knew what they were getting into.

School admins - public and private - misuse their power and do all kinds of idiotic and inappropriate things.

Liberals only care when they can trash conservative admins.

That's true, but is wearing a rainbow sweater at a restaurant against that?

Considering the results, yes. Again, without knowing the full history, it might appear odd but for all we know she was giving the school admin a big middle finger.

If she really wanted to give them the middle finger, she would have wore something like this:

Unicorn Pride.webp

Does that mean you only care when you can trash liberals?

Of course Kentucky. I went to a Christian camp a couple decades ago in Kentucky. So many frikkin' backwards weirdos.

OTOH, if she wore this, they might've made her Student of the Month.

They can have whatever dress code they want. The fact is, she wore a sweater with a rainbow on it at a private party. She got expelled because some idiot saw a rainbow and thought "teh gayz!"

....and you know this for a fact because.......?
