Chaos In Minneapolis: Looting Occurring In the City, Tear Gas Being Used

That doesn't excuse the terrorism that's taking place.

So the Minneapolis police department isn't engaging in terrorism against the black community?

The looting is a failure of individual character.
I’m shaking my head at what would have happened if the 60s had the internet and 24/7 media. We’re still not there, yet. This multi-year event with the COVID Era will be perilous for everyone, even on their best behavior. Trashing businesses and everything else is the very worst thing that could have happened. Watts in 1965, ETC.

These rioters are a lot of things; COVID Collapse; just out partying; true anger; despair; distraught; snapping, as I believe the ‘cop’ did; especially with his disciplinary record; The fact that the National Guard doesn’t shut this riot down is an abject failure of leadership right this second.

When you treat people like animals can you really be surprised by the response? Why haven't this officer been charged? How is it that he is still free when anyone of us had done the same we would be in a cell in a heartbeat?

Because they're trying to avoid ****ing up the case and the cops in question don't walk on a technicality. Remember the cops in the Freddie Gray case? All 6 walked. Do you want a repeat?

The national guard are powerless to prevent or stop a riot. They will only inflict more violence, and become targets themselves. You cannot suppress justified anger. It will continue to surface.

Downtown Columbus is a sea of broken glass and looting is underway. Tell me what the landmark Ohio Theater, now in shambles, did to deserve being the target of “justified anger.”

The anger will find a target, whether innocent or otherwise. The only way to stop it for good is to address the root cause.

Well, no, that isn't entirely accurate.

Oh yes it is. The Boston Massacre that help launch the American Revolution, was a deadly riot that began as street brawl, and it's first casualty was a black man.

The Minneapolis police were already searching for a 'technicality' before this even began. They claimed he was resisting arrest when eye witness and video evidence shows entirely the opposite. Do you think the Freddie Gray case was justice? If something like that happens here all I can tell you is that you ain't seen nothing yet. These people aren't going to take it anymore.

Indeed. And the root cause are the miscreants doing the act. Arresting and locking them up solves that problem.

This is a breaking story, so more info should be available in the coming hours.

We haven't had a race riot since Obama was in office. The majority of Trump's first term saw radical groups like Black Lives Matter fade into the background, as police department's use of body cameras helped protect the country from black rage.

Ooh we have had race riots, just white race riots towards blacks and left wing people.

Secondly, there would not have been a race riot if that police officer had not murdered that black man. This is anger at a very violent and misbehaving police force.

You have lived in the past decade right? The problem with body camera's is that they did not address the problem of white police officers executing black people.

Also moronic and dishonest.

In just about every protest situation, no matter who is doing the protesting, some criminal elements slip in and cause havoc.

Some criminal elements slip in eh? Glad it was only a small group that did all the looting, fire setting and destruction of property ... whew ..

And the truth it revealed is very interesting. Protestors wanted everyone to believe that unarmed shooting by cops was practically the leading cause of death for black people to justify setting the world ablaze. Then we found out it happens in the single digits annually. So now the thousands of poc who die at the hands of poc is a taboo subject.

Whether the perception is race related or not .. it doesn't justify the criminal actions of the large group of rioters damaging property, setting fires and destroying businesses, looting retail stores, stealing liquor and tobacco .. etc. .. etc .. etc. Nothing justifies this criminal behavior.

That's a speculation. Crispus was used by the abolishment movement, nearly 100 years later. Even the painting that exists of him was propaganda, as it was painted long after he'd died. 'Its believed' that he was the first casualty, which sounds like someone took a certain liberty with what what actually known, and today its used as fact. I think its sufficient to say that Crispus was one of the early casualties, and credit him thusly, without the need to call him the first.

Do you remember when Justine Damond (white) was shot and killed by Officer Noor (black) for no reason in Minneapolis a few years ago? He was never fired. He was allowed to resign when he was charged with murder 8 months later. I’d say things are moving at lightning speed in the Floyd case by comparison.

And how quickly did they arrest, try and convict him? What is the standard that is missing here? Oh that's right. Noor wasn't white.

Body cameras are the reason why there hasn't been a race riot in 5 years.

15,000 murders happen per year in my country, and it took 5 years for one to occur that motivated people to protest. I'd say that body cameras are doing a wonderful job at keeping left wing street terrorism in check.
