I just wonder how he hung on this long. The late night shows have been garbage for a while now, since they all went left wing. Seems pretty stupid to alienate half your audience.
It wasn't anything he said, if it were, he would be off the air immediately, not next year.

Let's see, the show loses $40 million a year, and the ratings suck. Gee, why would you get rid of a show like that? Kimmel and Fallon are just as bad or worse. I look forward to seeing them get the boot very soon.
There is one late night show that does very well.

That doesn't mean he makes money. The latest news reports have revealed the show is losing $40-50 million a year.

Which is why having a President with skin as paper thin as Trump and a willingness to go after people who make even the slightest joke about him is a bad idea.

Trump won't even go to the press dinner where they traditionally make fun of the President because his ego can't handle beong mocked.

Mmmmmaybe. I read that they have to pay out Colbert's contract til May either way. I did see the Jon Stewart show where they went into this (the week before this announcement)...I'm pretty sure Paramount resents the shit out of the TACO administration for the political interference in their sale deal...probably more than they're pissed at Colbert. So he still has 9 months to go after TACO...or...will that change? :unsure:

Clarification: when I wrote "or will that change," I meant will Colbert still go after TACO as much, maybe even more? My point was that Paramount could have pulled the show completely to shut him up...and didnt (y)
