As one of those "elderly folk" who benefits from Medicare, which IS socialized medicine, allow me to say that I'm currently getting the best of care at a fraction of what it cost me before my 65th birthday. $134 a month for Medicare, another $149 a month for a really stellar supplement, and for a mere $3,396 per year I have no deductibles, no copayments, and I can see any doctor I want. Not one has said "sorry, I don't take Medicare patients." I want that for all Americans.
