Because of Donald Trump, Canadians Boycotting U.S. Products and Canceling Vacations to America

After President Donald Trump derailed the U.S. relationship with longtime ally Canada, launching a trade war and exchanging barbs with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canadians decided to boycott Trump in solidarity with their leader. Now, Canadians have responded by boycotting U.S. products and canceling their planned trips to the U.S. Kentucky Bourbon, California wine, and Florida oranges are all among the products some Canadians now say they won’t purchase. Meanwhile, Canadian Twitter has been flooded with hashtags urging shoppers to #BuyCanadian, #BoycottUSProducts and #BoycottUSA. One man even tweeted a photo of his “Trump free” grocery cart filled with Canadian products. U.S. companies like Walmart and McDonalds are also included in the list of companies to be shunned.

For confused shoppers, at least one Canadian website details whether a product was produced in the U.S. or not. Canada is Washington’s second largest trading partner after China, accounting for an estimated $673.9 billion in trade and services last year. U.S. exports of goods and services to Canada supported an estimated 1.6 million jobs in 2015, according to the Department of Commerce. Trump’s decision to enter into conflict with one of the U.S.’s most steadfast allies was viewed with concern and occasionally mockery by analysts and experts.

Another first for President Trump. Pissing off both of our immediate neighbors.

Screw the "analysts and experts". Most of them have no idea what Trump is doing or why. They just know it isn't business as usual. Tough ****.

Screw the Canadian shoppers. They are idiots.

The fact is, all this nonsense from them won't help. Canada WILL deal with the US on our terms. That's all there is to it.

I often watch what our President says or does and think to myself..."That is what you would do to hurt Americans".

Trump has no love of America or of Americans, that's for damned sure. Trump only cares about Trump.

Fine! Stay home.

I heard we get to “keep” more bourbon; that’s a win..........[/sarcasm off]

Wow, that's pretty bad, Canadians vacation in Cuba.

That's bad when they will vacation in Cuba, but not America.

Just yesterday I told my wife I was jonesing for Montreal.

"Because it's hot out now?", she asked.

"Well, that's part of it, but more than that I just want a little respite from everyday life in a crumbling democracy."

I don't know when we will take a break and spend a week in Canada, maybe in a couple of months. I'm beginning to worry that Canada won't let us in.

Actually his whole administration asks themselves daily, "What would a prick do?" and then they do it.

I'm not convinced trump knows what he's doing or why.

Seriously.

Maybe this will convince Justin Boober to leave the US.

Fine! Stay home.

Not going to the US doesn't equal staying home.
I used to love travelling in the US. Some of my fondest memories of my misspent youth involve large motorcycles and Highway 101. And the people I met along that beautiful ribbon of pavement.
Haven't been south of the border since they told me I need a passport.

Know how your disfunctional politics has turned so many Americans against each other? Your boy Trump is intent on bringing that dysfunction to the world.

So do Americans. Vacation in Cuba, I mean. We met several of them- they went there through Mexico.
