Probably my greatest regret in music attendance was in not seeing all those great Chicago bluesman, the guys that gave us the Stones and blues based rock, when they were playing a scant mile or two from house as a kid. Playing in small Southside clubs and bars for a two drink minimum, or a very moderate door fee, interacting with their audience.
Hound Dog Taylor, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, the whole pantheon, were alive then and working the SouthSide juke joints. Instead I spent my money and time on Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones, and whatever popular national act came through, watching from many rows back.
Not that I regret being a part of the sixties & seventies rock scene, but I neglected seeing those iconic working bluesmen in their native environment.
