AOC Hits it out of the Park again

That's nice, but what has she done for anyone recently?

She wasn't this time.

I said the video was propaganda.

This is not relevant to me.

:lamo

You, after a whole 5 days at this forum, dismiss my comments as propaganda, accuse me being an "AOC fan" (you said 'stan', but I'll give you the benefit of doubt) "unable to deal with any criticism of AOC"... without having had a single previous interaction with me during the 5 whole days of your forum residency...

...and you have the gall to call AOC "too arrogant...to give her a chance"? That is really rich!

As to your response to my post, let's just say "that is not relevant to me"... or anyone, for that matter.

Have a nice evening.

If you're talking about me, I work in Finance; worked in Finance during the Financial crisis; was a banker during the Financial Crisis. I understand the complexities involved.

Carry on.

Not you. AOC.

An objective look at the "intelligence:"

AOC: "I'm concerned about the potentiality of fines related to misconduct just being incorporated as the cost of doing business. Are you guys taking fines into account for your risk analysis?"

Corbat: "Absolutely Not."

AOC: "People have gone to jail for jumping the turnstyle. Should more people have gone to jail for their role in the financial crisis?"

Dimon: "Ask a laywer..."

Am missing something here?

Americans call Ocasio-Cortez's an analogy. An analogy is a cognitive process of transferring information or meaning from a particular subject. Ocasio-Cortex used the analogy to illustrate a point. I'm surprised a Brit isn't familiar with the concept of analogy.

Ouch! I'm thinking that probably left a mark.

We all have heart for someone. I am sure AOC would love to know of your heart for her but unless you are one of her constituents it does her no good. And reports out there saying her constituents are not happy with her as she has been ignoring their local needs while she is out their blaming all that is wrong with the world on Climate. I guess her heart isn't in the Bronx her constituents have been wanting her to address.
Ocasio-Cortez's 'heart is not in The Bronx', locals say

If this continues poor AOC may be out after one term.

Your concern and support for Ocasio-Cortez is surprising.

lol...she's right

Climate Change Is A Key Driver of Migration and Food Insecurity

You aren't very good at this. Are ya?
no food, okay, here’s some food, oh your government won’t let the food go through to the people...I don’t think your very good at this...do ya really need me to link it? Well, do ya? Dip stick!

It’s got zilch to do with climate, and really it’s about Democratic votes under the guises of communism...so suck it!

What AOC did was not an analogy.

Flip those seats red girl, repopulate the 3 branches of Congress...:lamo

What’s wrong with both is that they are rhetorical talking points from somebody who doesn’t understand the complexities involved and doesn’t want to.

"The complexities involved" in the often fraudulent bundling of bad debt to turn it into buyable debt (default credit swaps, anyone?). Hell, I understand that and I don't have the degree in economics that AOC has. I think she "understands the complexities involved" better than, say, either of us. A bunch of people ripped off a lot of other people and had a major hand in blowing a trillion-dollar hole in the economy. Bury them beneath the prison, as far as I'm concerned. They ruined millions of livelihoods.

AOC gets bonus points for asking that question of Jamie ****ing Dimon, who more than any other bankster deserves the goddamned stocks for his actions during the 2008 financial crisis.

Unfortunately, Trump believes the vast majority would prefer racist attacks on brown and black skinned people over and above anything else. Based on what we've seen, it's hard to argue that Trump doesn't know his base.

They take after Dear Leader, projection is one of the hallmarks of the base.

It's not industry practice to assume malicious intent when you are conducting a risk analysis. It's just... weird.

Also, if we're not going to prevent that equating turnstile jumpers with commercial/investment banking activities is a ridiculous comparison, she basically already answered her own question with the inquiry. If there was anything illegal going on, people would have been sent to jail.

They're not good questions. Better questions would have been, "What steps are you taking to ensure that this doesn't happen again?"

Ah, such naivete.

Recently? She's literally been in Congress for three months.

And we give congressional representatives only two years. Whatever she is trying to do, she better make it fast.

You have no idea what econ majors study at the undergrad level, do you?

Can you clarify this sentence, please? It really makes no sense...

Yes, those of us with brains recognize others who have them. That is correct.

I don't deny that she has a brain. After all, even bartenders need brains, or else, how would they remember how to mix all that booze?

This is nothing more than carefully editted clips designed to convey a certain level of emotion while cherry-picking targetted points.

Also known as "Propaganda."

Actually this was a video of her five minutes of questions at a congressional hearing, and not carefully edited or cherry-picked. Also known as reality.

Yeah, I'd figured that you were such an AOC stan that you wouldn't be able to deal with any criticism of AOC without bringing Trump into this.

For your information, Trump and AOC are mirror images of one another: Demonstrably uninformed.

Now learn to make an argument without engaging in whataboutery.

They are not mirror images. However, the most hilarious part given you believe your own post; is the tacit admission that Trump's general knowledge for a man in his 70's; is stunted to the level of a young woman from the working class in her late 20's.

But, we know AOC is more informed than Donald Trump. We know she's right about climate change while Trump clings to the delusion that it is a hoax.
AOC is only beginning what will be a long career in politics. She begins with a clear idea of her policy platform and the facts behind her to make a persuasive argument to the American public.

Trump's signature policy piece is a nonsense Wall predicated on a fabricated emergency supported by scary anecdotes and outright lies. AOC's whole platform she can support with facts from researchers and support from polling the American public

I disagree. AOC has shown an interest in learning, Trump believes he knows all there is to know.

I doubt the New York Post has an accurate understanding of her constituents.

That is your opinion. Their knowledge of anything is roughly equal and average. In a just society, we would not be giving someone with no experience the time of day. However, I have stated before: Since Trump won the White House, you all are so eager to outperform his nonsense and stupidity.

But, we know AOC is more informed than Donald Trump. We know she's right about climate change while Trump clings to the delusion that it is a hoax.

What about climate change is she right about, precisely? As I recall, no one liked her new New Green Deal. The AFL-CIO publicly stated they would not back any candidate who supported it; solar and wind companies never talked about it; no one voted for it (in fact, some Democrats voted against it).

What exactly is she right about in regards to climate change? She acknowledges that it exists, so I guess she gives some browny-points, despite not understanding any of the science or practical solutions.

AOC is only beginning what will be a long career in politics. She begins with a clear idea of her policy platform and the facts behind her to make a persuasive argument to the American public.

I'm glad you're comfortable with career politicians. It's usually the perfect avenue for people with no competency in the private sector.

Trump's signature policy piece is a nonsense Wall predicated on a fabricated emergency supported by scary anecdotes and outright lies. AOC's whole platform she can support with facts from researchers and support from polling the American public

70% of New Yorkers supported the Amazon deal. Where was the AOC platform for that?

I disagree. AOC has shown an interest in learning, Trump believes he knows all there is to know.

She still believes she's on the right side of the Amazon deal...

That's not an interest in learning.
