140,000 former felons' right to vote restored by new Democratic governor in Kentucky

Probably because Republicans seem to want to limit the right to vote as much as possible.

How does that make any sense. Republicans do want people to vote? Thats a new one on me. Or are you saying they don't want convicted felons to vote because they vote Democrat?

Then why is it only Democrats are pushing for convicted felons to vote?

I suspect since they have more regard for our constitution than many Gopers as can be seen by what is going on with the Trump impeachment.

Repression, like returning the rights of convicted felons to have guns?

I would have no trouble with returning the rights of convicted felons to have guns with the exception, if they had used a weapon when committing their crime. I would not be happy with returning such rights to an armed robber or someone who had committed murder using a gun.

Wow is the fact anyone can read your posts, including those I reposted, showing you dancing around letting dangerous murderers out yet not wanting to make them full citizens. Why?

yeah, they can see the posts. which is really good for me since you lied about what i actually posted.

thanks for re-posting them.

Very good, their right to vote should definitely be restored.

Convicted felons tend to vote Democrat. That sounds about right.

If they aren't allowed to vote, how would anyone know what they tend to vote?
Got some proof?

Agreed, but not everyone agrees with you. Some here advocate letting murderers out early, but denying them citizenship rights and forcing the ex-cons to live far from themselves.

i don't even think the general public, republicans included, want ex murders buying guns again.

What if they murdered with a knife, vehicle, hands, or some other non gun method?

That's okay, I know very well that not everyone agrees with me, and I don't agree with them either. If they are let out of jail, early or not, they are still Americans and IMO, deserve their right to vote.

Then why is it only Democrats are pushing for convicted felons to vote?

Why was it D's were the only one's pushing for LGBTQ rights? Same sex marriage? Interracial marriage?

It’s morally bankrupt not to give them their firearm rights back either but if you don’t think people should have firearms rights in the first place I guess you start out morally bankrupt...

What firearm rights have been taken away?

Felons aren’t allowed to possess firearms in most jurisdictions

Probably makes sense, at least for a period of time. As does allowing them to vote.

Moscow Mitch probably has little to fear.... which is a sad commentary all by itself.

We'll see. He was in big danger last time and the governor was defeated.

Oh, so you are an advocate for returning the rights to own guns to convicted felons? Or are you just interested in votes?

All people who have served their time should have all their rights restored.

I disagree. Time is only part of the sentence. Having served their “time” doesn’t mean they served their sentence.

Yes, I'm pretty sure had you thought those felons were going to vote for President Trump, you wouldn't have an issue with this at all.

But once all punishment is completed, then the full of the rights of the individual should be recognized again.

I would have an issue with them voting period. Their debt to society has not been paid. It's a lie to suggest anything different.

If you want to say their sentence should be commuted, and part of their debt forgiven, than that would be accurate.

Anything short of that is pure BS.

Every state has their own "laws on the books".

The vast majority of states have laws that allow felons to regain their voting rights after completing their sentences.

Some states allow felons on parole to vote, some require parole to be completed first, and I believe at least one state allows felons to vote while they're in prison.

Based on available information as of October, 2019, your claim is a lie.
