[W:549] Nfl 2018

I care about Josh Gordon the person and the New England Patriots provide a blueprint for not only football success, but life success.

Every WR Tom Brady touches, is like being baptized. Look at what happened with Randy Moss, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, etc....

Hue Jackson is a fraud. This is a coach that said on Hard Knocks that he didn't want to overextend his players yet punishes them by playing them the entire preseason.

Josh Gordon had no reason to trust the Cleveland Browns.

I agree, going to the Patriots is the best thing that could happen to Josh Gordon right now in his career. A few seasons under the revered Bill B. and working in tandem with Brady will make him a better person and a better wide receiver. This deal might have just saved his career.

Gordon is either going to be Moss 2.0, or he’ll be Randy Moss in his 2nd NE season.

Youre assuming that Gordon even shows up to practice and plays without getting suspended. He's never done that on a regular basis since 2013. At least Moss showed up.

He'll be on the first flight out of Logan is he pulls that stunt in NE.

Moss played a huge role in the Pats almost going undefeated, but then he melted down the next year. My guess is Gordon does something similar. He'll be a useful addition this year, and then he'll become Josh Gordon again.

Dude, Gordon showed up high at the Browns facilities just last week- thats why they let him go. You honestly think he's going to sober up the moment Tom Brady kisses him when they meet?

Brady doesn’t have that long ball anymore to make Gordon the next Moss, 2007 was a long time ago.

I did not know that. But, it does explain much.

He can still go deep if he wants to.

His receivers have to be trusted enough for him to go there, and right now the Patriots don't have a reliable deep receiver.

Deep is overrated anyways, especially if you look at it from a statistical point.

He can go deep but he doesn’t seem to like to as much and it’s not as accurate as it was. He rarely targeted Cooks long last year.

Going deep flies in the face of his quick release strategy. So, I believe his reluctance to throw long has more to do with getting rid of the ball before getting whacked than it does not having the arm left to heave-ho.

You have Trump's pee pee tape?

What are you talking about?
A golden shower refers to a celebration like when it rains gold from the sky.

You need to get your mind out of the gutter. Seriously.

It really doesn't mean that...

Steelers Somehow Get More Dramatic After Antonio Brown Doesn't Show Up To Work...

In addition to being winless and grouchy, Antonio Brown is absent. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports today that the Steelers receiver was nowhere to be found at the team’s facilities Monday. No wonder he had no media availability:

From the Post-Gazette:

It is not clear if Brown’s absence was excused by coach Mike Tomlin, but several sources indicated they did not know why Brown didn’t show up with the rest of his teammates for meetings and film review.

Brown had an underwhelming (for him) performance in Sunday’s 42-37 loss to the Chiefs, and was spotted arguing with coaches Randy Fichtner and Darryl Drake on the sidelines. The receiver was clearly still stewing Monday morning, because he tweeted this in response a former Steelers flack:

For what it’s worth, Mike Tomlin said Brown hasn’t actually asked to be traded. The coach confirmed that Brown wasn’t present on Monday, but also wouldn’t elaborate on why, or whether the absence was excused. (That sure makes it sound like it wasn’t!) Tomlin said he planned to speak with Brown today. The team’s off today but will reconvene Wednesday.

Perhaps Brown will return without further fuss, and the Steelers will revert to being only somewhat dramatic because they don’t want to pay their lead running back. Meanwhile, Le’Veon Bell is making the most of his holdout by jet-skiing in Miami and throwing a release party for his EP:

Tomlin confirms Antonio Brown's Monday absence

The drama that began Sunday with Antonio Brown doesn't appear to be slowing.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Tuesday that the star receiver did not show up at the team's facility for work on Monday. The coach didn't provide further details and would not say whether Brown was excused from activities Monday.

"I'm looking forward to visiting with him today and discussing that and some other things," Tomlin said. "I'm not going to get into the details of why he wasn't here [or if he was] excused. I just assume leave those things in house.

"I understand sometimes we got some negativity. We lost some football games. There was some negative exchanges on the sideline, that frustration associated with not playing well and not winning -- I understand all that. There's opportunities for us for respond to it particularly the early portions of the year to utilize negative experiences ... to educate our team."

On Sunday, Brown got into a verbal spat with Steelers offensive coordinator Randy Finchter during Pittsburgh's 42-37 loss, and the receiver left the stadium before reporters were allowed in the locker room. On Monday, Brown replied to a critic (and former Steelers employee) by asking to be traded as a test of the criticism of his value to the team.

The Steelers once one of the premier classy organizations in ALL of sports is now a circus with the Tomlin as the lead clown.

This trade was a no-brainer.

Josh Gordon has a skillet that no other free agents wr possess, big playmaking ability.

He's basically a less reliable Julio Jones. If you wanted to get Jones, you would have to trade a first and third round pick at least, and that's if the Falcons were willing to trade him.

If he plays, the Patriots beat the Jaguars because they can no longer double Gronk.

Another false statement.

Brady's deep ball is fine. His reluctance to throw deep is his lack of playmakers at WR.

Imagine if he were on the Rams or Chiefs. Those teams are loaded at WR.

Fyi here are the patriots top wrs.

Chris Hogan - former undrafted lacrosse player.

Phillip Dorsett - bust draft pick from the colts

Cordelle Patterson - special teams punt returner.

And people claim it is not Brady but the Patriots system?

Lol.

Yup, I agree with you- it was a no-brainer ... meaning the Patriots have no brains.

Gordon was going to be let go by the Browns regardless, so to give up any kind of pick for a guy who can't stay clean for the last 5 years reeks of desperation.

But then again the Pats organization is full of cheaters, liars, and murderers, so I guess an addict would be small potatoes for them...

Lol. The Bears literally signed a wife beater while he was under investigation.

They obviously cut him when he got arrested again.

lol...there's a reason why NE doesn't seek out deep ball threats and gets guys like Gronk instead.

Let me ask you a serious question and please answer honestly.

Does Jared Goff have a better deep ball than Tom Brady?

As a Patriot fan who goes to on average at least 1-2 games a year i would say yes Goff at this point does. Brady of course is a smarter QB however don’t be surprised to see Cooks put up serious numbers with Goff this year on the deep route.

100 passes; Goff will be more accurate than Tom well over 75% of the time. Hail Mary? Give me Tommy boy.

Rodgers first name is "Aaron". easy mistake
