The impeachment/trial sucked all the oxygen out of the Democratic Primary election debates and candidates campaigns, plus grounded the 3 Democratic senators still in the election - the only legitimate candidates they had. This cut a clear path for Michael Bloomberg, who claims Elizabeth Warren talking about breaking up the 2 largest monopolies on earth (Amazon and Google) makes her "too radical.' You'll never hear Bloomberg criticizing any fellow mega billionaire or mega billion dollar corporation. According to Bloomberg, the 14th richest man on earth, all the other Democrats for president are "too radical" for promising universal healthcare, free college, erasing student debts etc.

The DNC just changed their rules for the debate exclusively to get Bloomberg, a 77 year old white male New York moderate Republican, into the debates. The MSM and press - all now entirely owned by Bloomberg's fellow mega billionaires and mega billion dollar corporations - has attacked all Democratic candidates except for Bloomberg, for which there has not been one major critical story.

Will Michael Bloomberg be the Democratic Party's nominee? In my opinion this is very likely. Sanders will be used to prove Bloomberg isn't "too radical" like Sanders and all the other Democratic candidates like Bloomberg claims.

(SORRY, won't let me put up a poll or I messed up). But it is somewhat a yes or no question. I say yes, unless someone else maybe gets in it.)

If people vote for him, yes. If they don’t, no. No conspiracy theories necessary.

I doubt it, since Bloomberg has stated that he will heavily financially support any DNC POTUS nominee. IMHO, he is just planning to ensure that Sanders is not allowed to win even if Biden implodes.

It all could be coincidence if a person believes in coincidences in politics.

The MSM and press can make any candidate implode at any time merely by claiming the candidate has. Sanders will not be allowed to win. Sanders is how Bloomberg doesn't seem radical. The nominee will be like last time - who the media declares is one of the final two, with Sanders the other one.

I say no. The left tends to heavily disagree with his Stop and Frisk. The left tends to hate the super-rich,sure they don't mind Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren or Nancy Pelosi rich.

Democrats are suffering from party shift to the left outer space for some reason. If a democrat does get elected and those policies are put into place America will be greatly harmed, taking even democrats totally by surprise.

The GOP spent most of its first year with unified control of the federal government in over a decade trying to kick old people out of nursing homes, so right wingers’ understanding of what constitutes ‘great harm’ is rather skewed.

Looking at polls, Warren and Sanders combined numbers leave Biden in the dust
Any Dems that strike your interest?

And yes, Bloomberg has an extensive network and has stated his will maintain these offices and staff in order to support the eventual nominee

People on the right /left complain about his wealth, yet other billionaires get no criticism from the right. Koch brothers massive spending is one case

Both parties go hands out to the wealthy on both sides of the divide

I heard that before. Republicans want to throw grandma off the cliff because they try to consider realist options in efforts to balance the budget.

It’s more like the GOP devastated the budget by giving trillions away to the super-rich, so now they need to cut social security and medicare to balance the budget. Go ahead, champ. Run on that agenda. I invite you to.

They are going to have to hurt the poor and the elderly since they gave that money to the super rich instead. Republicans are the scum of the earth and Trump supporters are a sexually transmitted disease. Trump and his supporters are so dishonest they can't even man up and say they have to hurt the poor and sick because they want to prop up the super rich instead.

Not sure that the folks backing Sanders will go quietly into the night as they did for HRC. Most stayed with the party and voted for Hillary, some stayed home.

This has to be Sanders' last chance to run given his age and health. He owes nothing to the party that would have cheated him twice out of being its nominee. Could be he says the heck with everyone. Lets run third party (remember he isn't a democrat to start with) and see what happens.

If he runs I would predict no one in the race will get the needed to win. There is some chance he could get the majority of states in a House vote.

How much money did Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos get from the government which belonged to the illegal and/or homeless in LA?

Can you prove republicans gave Jeff Bezos money that was taken from the homeless in California?

DNC members discuss rules change to stop Sanders at convention

The talks reveal rising anxiety over the Vermont senator's momentum on the eve of voting.

The decision to relegate superdelegates — now called “automatic delegates” — to the second ballot in a contested convention consumed the DNC
for nearly two years after the 2016 election. Superdelegates overwhelmingly sided with Hillary Clinton, infuriating Sanders’ supporters.
The rule change was widely viewed as a major victory for Sanders & the party’s left flank. At the time, Perez called the delegate overhaul
“historic,” while progressive Democrats and many moderates lauded its appeal to young voters skeptical of centralized party power.

RCP average today:
Sanders 39%
Biden 34%
Bloomberg 16%
Warren 9%
Buttigieg 5%
Clinton 5%
Yang 4%
Klobucher 2%

Infuriating almost 40% of your voting base is a bad idea! If half of Sanders flock feel cheated & stay home 20%,
and they are expressing they will, it will lead to a Trump victory even more electoral than last time.

If, on the second ballot, superdelegates were to throw their support to someone else, tipping the scales, many moderate Democrats
fear the upheaval that would cause could weaken the eventual nominee.

Pretty close to even money. What is guaranteed is that Biden wont be the Democrat party nominee, nor will Sanders or Buttigieg. Sanders and the Bernie Bros are ****ed...again. Lets hope they brought their own Vaseline this time...we know the DNC likes using sand in theirs.

if he buys the nomination, i'll send a 12 pack of coke classic as a campaign contribution.

Most Democrats did not want Clinton in 2016, but got stuck with her anyway. If the powers that be want Bloomberg, it will be Bloomberg. I don't think Democrats actually pick their nominee. They may think they do. Bernie is a good tool for them to use to get rid of Bloomberg's competition.

If he keeps rising in the polls as fast as he is now, yes. But you'd think his rise would level out at some point.

Trump seems to think he's a threat, he attacked Bloomberg for wanting a box to stand on during the debate.

I might vote for Bloomberg if he's the nominee.

No way.

His charisma and demographic support are utterly lacking to put it nicely. If anything he'll split the moderate vote between him and Biden and make a Sanders win more likely.

It'll be in the bag come Super Tuesday... Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Whoever wins any 2 out of those 3 will be the nominee.... the momentum gathered by that point will steamroller Bloomberg come Super Tuesday. Bloomberg is like John Connolly going after the Republican nomination in 1980 - he spent the most money and ended up with 1 delegate at the convention. Why? Because the Republicans weren't willing to trust a party switcher. It'll be the same for Bloomberg.
