Curious. You state I gave misinformation, then boldly state others are against it(sounding much like a majority of some poll). Of course , you failed to mention how many others equals. Please quantify your claim, so I can avoid feeling foolish for projecting my fantasy as fact, as you seem to have done. If you can produce the numbers, count on my apology. If not...well you already know.

You said that the folks that are the border agents are for the wall. That is a misstatement. There are some for it, and some against it, out of the ones that made statements. In other words, they are just normal folk that have a variety of different opinions..

Border experts says a wall helps. It isn't the only thing we need, agents, technology will also help but a wall is a big plus. Common sense tells us this is a needed part of border control. We have thousands a day trying to come illegally into the country. A border slows that down and allows agents to travel to locations where the attempt is being made in time to make an apprehension. Drones and cameras cannot apprehend anybody. In some areas of the border the border is literally on opposite sides of the road. Getting across into America is a matter of running across and jumping into a car and taking off. Walls would stop this. Walls would help concentrate the illegal activity more toward the Ports of Entry where the border agents can search vehicles for illegal goods and persons.

I would wonder why you consider building a barrier to illegal immigration money ill spent. You are not in favor of illegal immigration, are you? Do you know of a better way? Really, I would like to know of it.

Very clear post. Exactly what I've been saying for several years. Here's why its not happening in my opinion.
Democrats have very few real issues to run a Presidential campaign upon. Abortion (better known by dems as, womens right to choose), DACA, Immigration with emphasis on treatment of illegal immigrants rather than fixing the laws regarding how to stop the influx of illegals in the huge numbers.
Because they don't have much to run on they keep these "hot button" issues alive by refusing to solve them. The did nothing when they have both houses of the Congress and the Presidency with President Obama.
Another reason I believe they are so unwilling to do anything about border security it that movements like the "Walk Away" movement by African Americans is growing. As black Americans move away from the democrats the democrats need more voters to replace what has been a 97% voting block for dems. Now they see illegal immigrants and DACA recipients as replacement voters. If they are granted citizenship or better yet just allowed to vote in our elections without citizenship the dems believe those 11 million to 20 million illegals will vote for democrats.

Who they vote for is their business when if ever they are allowed to vote but they should have to obtain citizenship to do so.
We also are looking at large numbers of unaccompanied minors coming into the country and large numbers family units which will add to a financial strain on social welfare programs and entitlement programs.
 
Given the recent testimony by Kirstjen Nielsen it is quite obvious there is a crisis at the border. Stopping the bleeding is the first step and that would require a wall. Then we can work on way's to improve our immigration system. The Wall would deter people from making the dangerous trip which puts women and children in harms way. Why not make it more difficult for the criminals and the drugs to get in?

If, for example, it saves only one American from being murdered, then it will have been worth it.

If, for example, it saves only one dollar from taxpayers for education, health care, etc., it will have been worth it.

The Democrats politicising the border crisis is EVIL! You are right though. They have to perpetuate their manufactured outrage of everything this President does. They have nothing else to run on. I have never seen a more pathetic group of people in my life. They would prefer to see women raped and children die than do the right thing and give this President the money for the wall.

If you have a water leak in your house you shut off the water to prevent further damage. The wall is the first step to stop the damage caused by these future illegals. The wall alone would deter families from making this dangerous trip. We finally have a President willing to do his job and get this done.

The problem with this type of thinking is it is "common sense" and democrats don't exhibit "common sense".

The left accused Nielsen of not giving accurate facts and not knowing what was going on at the border. The left doesn't chose to listen to the facts but few of them travel to the border to look at the problems. It's all politics to try to win an election to try to gain more voters who will vote for democrats. They are way more interested in power than protecting and serving the citizens of the U.S.

The democrats & in particular the open border Democrat socialists don't see illegal aliens streaming across the border,
they see democrat voters with socialist instinct in their DNA.

We didn't need Eugene Debs or Norman Thomas's politics back in the day and we don't need AOC & her groupies now.
With over a million borders hoppers entering the USA this year from third world countries un-impeded in few decades

thats actually a GREAT analogy to use. Lets use it based on REALITY to show how monumentally retarded the wall and this presidents plan actually is :)

your house has a water leakage problem
in your basement theres already 11 million gallons of water
about 6 million gallons are leaking annually

your kitchen sink (illegal southern boarder crossing) has a small leak and leaks about 800k gallons a year
your shower and out door faucet are on almost full blast (other illegal entry) leaks 5.2 millions gallons a year

lets see .. how do we fix the water problem . . oh i know lets shut down the entire household put the majority almost all our focus on the sink . . that will fix it!!! Doesnt matter that some of the 800K will now just switch to the shower and facet .. just to be nice well say 20% 160K

Focusing on the wall is like putting a band aid on a skinned knee when you have a bullet hole and knife in you. Theres no logical and factual defense for a wall to be a focus or high ranking on the list of solutions because its factually NOT a "solution"

Adding walls and barriers is just fine by me but making it the focus or thinking its worth a government shut down is bat **** insane because if i could snap my fingers and make a 30 foot wall appear right now cost to cost it fixes NOTHING. We still have the problem. Thanks for using that analogy and showing how dumb this administrations plans are!

Because they know that this wall will enforce people to come in through a legal checkpoints! The democrats doesn’t think that these people are able to fill out the documentation and wait until the United States government to give them citizenship. This is how I think about the wall is it will block people from cutting corners. But everyone is acting like a first grader who is trying to learn math

Using that same logic, enforcing drunk driving laws should be ended. After all, only a small portion of all drunk drivers are caught.

Because you seem to lack basic problem solving skills, let me help you. When you have a large problem like we have with illegal aliens, you break it down into problem segments and work on each separately. There is not any one solution that will end this problem. However, if you stop a few hundred thousand here and a few hundred thousand there, after a while you have greatly reduced the problem.
