Does it count as phone sex if only one person is aroused?

If you have read the Andrea Mackris court documents, you would have known she left for CNN but returned to FOX after Bill O'Reilly got her a raise.

And the making excuses for domestic violence, which you've done on this forum, multiple times.

The list of my crimes against victim culture is certainly long, but then again victim culture has failed,so I am OK with that.

I argue that I know a better way.

Tell me, how many stations carry Rush's show today, verses how many carried it pre-Sandra Flack. What is Limbaugh's pay today, verses when he had the 8 year contract???

About the same as he has for some years now as he is featured in almost every single major market in the country. He pulls a slightly smaller audience than he did before there was so much competition--competition that HE paved the way for--in his time slot. But he's still on the top of the heap for talk radio and third in the nation for audience only slightly behind two NPR drive time programs that air at times different than Limbaugh does. If anything, Sandra Flack boosted his ratings. :)

O'Reilly is also at the top of the heap in his genre in his time slot and that is what will keep him safely in that time slot.

I argue that you're full of it.

Bothering with potshots is beneath me I am afraid.

I'm ready when you are, Load Up and come find me, surely we can find some way to see who is right.

So women knowing of all these apparent problems with Fox News still apply for them for what reason?

As I said, "Not sure what you mean. It's a good job, great pay, lots of people would die to be on air on a major news channel in NYC, etc.................. and none expect to be harassed or assaulted and the vast majority are not - they do their jobs, go home, do it again the next day.

I guess you have a point, but you'll have to state it directly. "

How odd that you think so.

Fox will investigate Bill O'Reilly harassment claims, lawyer says - Apr. 9, 2017

Personally I don't watch "The Factor" very often. Bill O. reminds me of the drunk guy yelling at you at the end of the bar with his opinion on everything, but refusing to listen to anyone else's opinion. His personality is very similar to our current president's - a loudmouthed bully.

However, I think he's going to survive this current situation and remain on the air for a few more years. My vote is "yes".

Well...going after advertisers is effective. It got Glenn Beck out of there and he had good ratings as well. I honestly don't know what some people keep at it. Bill has millions of dollars and doing a show takes work. What keeps some of these people going at it instead of taking off and enjoying their remaining years?

He'll keep on ticking, I think. I don't think Fox overall is going to be hurt by any of this either.

Think about what a boycott does. It removes your product from viewers. You intend it to encourage the station owner to fire O'Reilly because ad revenue dropped, but the companies really buy advertising based on viewership. You product disappears on O' Reilly, so you product has fewer views. Then some of those customers may be offended that you are trying to punish someone they like, so you lose customers and views.

So there is no winner here.

*and of course you have to publicize it since it's a boycott after all, since just dropping advertising makes you look like you are in financial trouble, so you may end up losing customers not connected to O Reilly.

Politics and business don't mix.

Memo from 2012 when Rush Limbaugh was dropped by Carbonite:

Carbonite CEO admits dropping Limbaugh hurt growth more than expected

In fairness, they have clawed their way back, but they lost a lot of opportunity.

Murdoch will do nothing as long as Trump continues to support O'Reilly and sexual harassment.

The direct result of having a Kool Aid drinking audience who eschew reality.

With my argument as it is I know before I open my mouth in this thread that I am in a hostile environment.

I might tend to act accordingly.

I will watch that.

Note: I moved over to the music thread as I listen to super sweet music.

We Zennists are all about the hygiene, the self regulation, in mindfulness.

I get that but it's me you're talking to. I thought we had a mutual respect (unlike many of the others around here.)

Surely we agree on most things and we don't agree on others but still, you're one of my favorites here so go easy on this old man. LOL!

Sure we do, I never expected you to take my comment so badly but that's OK, we can recover.

I came on overly strong.

I apologize.

He has, arguably, the best ratings in his hour for "news" stations. So, yes, he'll be around. Money talks.

O'Reilly is the Opiate for the heroine addict. Heroine addicts don't care about a sex scandal.

Not if advertisers won't touch his toxic ass.

We get it. You like O'Reilly.

As for those 'top of the slot ratings', expect them to fall precipitously much like shares of United Airlines has the last few days.
