Yes, I know lots of the people that use that term hate Donald Trump. I'll grant that they believe they have good reasons to do so.
I don't like Donald Trump myself. His personal history and the way he behaves is frequently repulsive and utterly disgusting. I did not vote for him.

But I support President Trump because I agree with most (not all) of the policies he has advanced as president and while I do not care in general for his "counterpunching" and "tweeting", I do admire considerably a Republican president who isn't afraid or unwilling to fight back.

Finally, I believe that the efforts people have made to oppose President Trump are far more dangerous to our country than anything President Trump has done or could conceivably do.

Thus, I find it galling to have myself (and others) labeled as "cultists". By no possible definition of the word is my support of President Trump in any way reminiscent of a cult member showing allegiance to their leader.

While I recognize that there might be some (very few) Trump supporters who would fit that stereotype, it definitely isn't most or even the majority of Trump supporters and I'm pretty sure even Trump haters would recognize that fact if they were honest.

No big deal. It's just leftists talking out their ass.

If people don't want to be labelled cultists, they need to stop acting like them.

I was averse to using that word for a long time, but Trump supporters have earned it in my opinion.

Trump support is a nationwide virtual psychosis affecting tens of millions of people as the end result of decades of bad information and propaganda being crapped directly into their brains by all manner of media along with a strong sense of tribalism.

Me, too. That's why they're more accurately described as 'death cultists'.

Thanks for bringing this up.

If the shoe fits, you gotta wear it. What other reason can there possibly be for any person, in their right mind, for still supporting the corrupt, commie Liar-in-Chief?

You get no sympathy from me as I read all these Trump cultists talking about "democrat scum" or "leftist's talking out their ass."

You get what you give so wear it well.

The "cult" is actually goofy progressives. They have a complete belief system that will fail miserably when put into practice.

I think that's fair.

I doubt that all of the people who support Trump are cultists.

However, there are folks even here on this board who believe in crazy things like honest politicians.
Some folks believe things like Trump doesn't lie.
For people who choose to believe this and similarly wacked things, I think "cultists" is loosely appropriate in the sense of being a further on the spectrum than a fan — which used to mean fanatic btw.

I'm sure everyone who is labeled as "TDSer" who "hates" Trump is weeping at your pain right now that you're being called a "cultist".

When people started lining up to cheer a man who has lied to them an average of 12-15 times every day for years, they became cultists. I wish I was sorry that the term bothers some, but there are more important things to worry about than the fragile egos of Trumpists.

has any cult enjoyed being described accurately?

Who do you describe as a "Trump supporter"? Someone who voted for Trump and approves of some of his policies? Or someone who voted for Trump, approves of all of his policies and refuses to acknowledge any of his faults? All of the above?

I'm sure everyone who is labeled as "TDSer" who "hates" Trump is weeping at your pain right now that you're being called a "cultist".

There are people who post on this forum who openly admit to "hating" President Trump.

Too bad. A great many such people are already 'cultists,' blindly following the dogma of religion. Not questioning, accepting everything, making the most convoluted of justifications in the face of reality.

It's in their nature to follow blindly and forfeit critical thinking. If there are hard and fast rules to follow, it's easier for such people to get along in life, they like black and white, they need structure.

So, it's not much of a surprise such people are considered "cultists'.

I've called it a cult for some time now, probably as far back as late 2016. There are some people who truly act as if they are in a cult with Trump, so those people deserve to be called a cultist.

Recognize the signs: Warning Signs

Now do I believe all Trump supporters are cultists? No. But if they exhibit the signs of being in the cult of 45, I don't have an issue with calling them out.

And there are people on this forum who behave as if they are in the cult of Trump.

Hellz yeah, including some that believe God chose The Donald and that The Donald is now a 'good Christian' and is leading the US to follow God's Word :doh

It's embarrassing to even write that out describing supposedly sentient beings...who wants to be included in that same species?

Well according to Michele Bachman, Trump is the most Biblical President we ever had. And Rick Perry said he was sent here by God. And so on.

Idiots.

I could have written the above.
I don't mind their clueless, sticks and stones labeling though.
Says everything about their desperation with this president and yes, they do blame we, who support and/or voted for him. They need to get over themselves.

Do you even realize what the above says about you? Read my last post for your first and only clue.

So starting with the first Democratic President, Democrats still want to destroy tribes. No surprise. Death and destruction is what the Democratic Party has always stood for and marketed.

Why are you so easily offended at the truth?

People can call me a Trumpist all day long if they like. It's not an insult if you're called something that you're not.

Like calling a tall person "pipsqueak" or a smart person "dummy".

And I reserve the right to call out TDS wherever I see it. If you're insulted by that, then you probably should be.
