Here is a snippet from Wikipedia about what Ecology is about:
Life processes, interactions and adaptations
The movement of materials and energy through living communities
The successional development of ecosystems
The abundance and distribution of organisms and biodiversity in the context of the environment.

Just because Dr. Moore is good at the above does not make you a climate expert. My wife is an expert at Bio-Chemical engineering, specifically with breaking down wood and grass into experimental fuels. This also does not make her a climate expert.

They predicted global warming in the 90s. The earth COOLED for 10 years.
