Why are they moving to Canada over Mexico? Its not like its war torn ****hole right?

I have been living in Mexico for almost 20 years.

we've started to look into it

perfect climate, stable economy, good medical care

we don't speak Spanish but apparently that is not a problem

As well my wife's family is from Colombia, (they're Spanish ex-pats who settled there in 1800s). She speaks Spanish, I'm learning it, but many people speak English anyway.
