All that boilerplate stuff listed by

Post #5 is all good stuff.
I don't have an issue with any of it.
If you were to look back through my posting history you would see that five or six years ago I was almost a Tesla EVANGELIST, which means I was almost an Elon Musk evangelist.
I urged my daughter to go take a job, ANY job, at any one of his companies, even if it meant sweeping floors or cleaning toilets, just to get in on the ground floor.
I dreamed of owning a Tesla.
I kept dreaming that one day he would come out with a Tesla for the average working stiff, which never happened.
Then he began adding stupid crap to his Teslas which the average person doesn't need, and they became more and more expensive.
Then he opened his mouth and began blaming the world's problems on something he calls a woke mind virus, which makes no sense.
Then he began cozying up to Vladimir Putin.
Then he began going on Joe Rogan.
Then he bought Twitter.
I did not leave Elon Musk, Elon Musk left me, left me with my mouth agape saying WHAT THE ACTUAL **** is going through his mind right now, does he even still HAVE a mind?
Not sure what you mean by "average working stiff"? But, the new Model 3 starts at $40K, and options-out around $50K, with $50K being the average sale price of a new car sale in the U.S. this year.
Granted, it's not Toyota Corolla cheap, but it bases-out just below the average new car sale price.
That being said, it's not my thing, I have no interest, and I wouldn't buy one. I'm only aware of the Model 3 & its pricing, due to it just being released and getting coverage in the automotive press I follow.
I haven't driven any Teslas, but have been in friends' cars. They're not my thing, due to practical considerations. But I must admit, it is pretty cool to experience the silence of no engine! They're seem pretty torquey off the line, too.
For automotive audio enjoyment, to my ears nothing beats the sound of a Duntov 30-30 cammed Small-block. In fact, I just recently finished (yet another!) 30-30 re-build!
But I must admit, for grocery-getter transportation I like a quiet ride - the quieter the better. That would be my reason, if ever, to get an EV.
(BTW - Have you tried to get a ride in the new Z06 Vette? With the 8500RPM mill? The dealers by me insist on a full purchase contract! Trust me, I tried!)
