Netflix has just put up the first 3 episodes of the live action version of Teasing Master Takagi-San, and I cannot recommend it enough. The Japanese have a concept of iyashikei, which loosely translates to "healing", and refers to shows and books that are pleasant, make you feel relaxed and kinda happy. Takagi-San is one of the best examples of this. The live action series is an adaptation of the anime(which was an adaptation of a comic) about a middle school aged boy, who tries to tease and beat at contests the girl setting next to him at school, the Takagi-san from the show title. As the title of the show suggests, he fails, badly, as she is so much better at it. What the boy(named Nishikata) is totally oblivious to is why she might be teasing him so...she has a huge crush on him. The show is just them engaging in light hearted attempts to get the better of each other, while slowly getting closer. No action, no big conflicts, just mellow fun that leaves you relaxed and stress free.
