CNN Ignores Democrat Arrest[W:77]

Still ignoring that a news source, Maddow, carried CalGun's OP and far more.
So much for links.
Is it the story or your demand that all outlets carry the story?
This is how FOX behaves--everyone must carry their stories.
Well, Maddow did and still no kudos from your rightieside ..

Listen carefully.... MADDOW IS NOT A NEWS SOURCE

She is a liberal, that hosts her own liberal opinion show, on a network dedicated to presenting the liberal perspective.

California State Senator Freed From Jail on Bond - ABC News

Since the California State Senator was arrested yesterday I've been checking CNN.com to see their take on the story. Senator Lee is the third Democratic State Senator arrested in the last year. But this one is even more intriguing since the champion of GUN CONTROL in the State Legislature was arrested for trying to arrange the trafficking of guns with a convicted felon / mobster / illegal immigrant. That person, Chow, was even given an accommodation by Diane Feinstein in 2012 and the mayor of San Francisco at the same time. So where is the story CNN? Why can't they run it? Why won't they run it?

I see the front page of CNN.com has, for 24 hours, been running the story of a small town police chief in Minnesota being arrested for hiring a hooker, but we ignore gun control advocates arrested for felony gun running? Wow...talk about bias.

let us try to apply some unbiased news values to this.

When? Yesterday is recent, usually breaking news.

Who? Oh, just a state senator who has championed gun control.

What? A felony arrest involving illegal arms sales, organized crime and possibly money laundering.

Where? California, the most populist state in the union.

It scores a ten on all four of the primaries.

The why is unknown and while not one of the four values, the suppositions make it almost mandatory that the story be pursued. Money? Ideology? Terrorism? Sex? Simple stupidity? Extortion? Drugs? all issues affecting his public position.

Impact: With an ongoing and open debate about the second amendment, a growing divide and this individual's stand, the impact is not great, but the fact he is a sitting politician and in a seat of influence makes it great.

The chain of politicians in the state gives it gravitas, the fact they are all Democrats is important, but that and his own membership in the party is the stuff of commentary not news.

Based on this example CNN.com cannot be considered a "news" outlet, what MSNBC et alia do is completely irrelevant and the usual deflection of a lame argument.

Too bad you weren't watching Rachel Maddow last night CalGun.
She had a long segment on the THREE Democratic scumbags indicted in California, not just the one you point out.
Try taking off your partisan blinders once in a while .

Watch the vid, Nim; It was a reasonably presented report ... an uncommon occurrence ... in all of TV these days.

H/T for the heads-up

Good day to ya' Nim

Thom Paine

Tell me what was liberal opinion in the Maddow piece, which went far beyond ONE Senator.
It is obvious getting out the news on these THREE corrupt Dem senators is not the point with you people.
You do care to quibble over sources and links, and not bother with what you're complaining about .

Perhaps the issue is the one at the core of the OP. That being not only the lack of news, but the way the news is being reported.

For example, you suggested Maddow spoke of the Dem Senators actions in California costing them their super majority.

That's not true, and the reason is isn't true should be news itself, but it isn't.

From Maddow:

Neither Calderon nor Wright has resigned from office. In fact, even the Senate President Pro Tem, Darrell Steinburg, refuses to force them out of office. Wright still holds his seat and Calderon is merely on a paid leave of absence. To this, Maddow also had harsh words.

“Being convicted of a felony is usually what people think makes you a convicted felon,” Miss Maddow joked. “I don’t know, apparently that’s splitting hairs to California Senate Democrats, so the California Senate Democrats voted to let the felon keep his seat in the state Senate. And he still holds it today.”

Hey "nim" what part of your friends did you miss-if I say your friends dude I mean your friends - not you.
But the next part of your quote does equate ME with the one trafficking illegal guns

see what they are saying about your left wing socialist friend in CA that trafficks guns -
Is it your MO to link posters with indicted felons, dancing on the fence of personal insult?
but the national media via CNN.com aren't covering it.
Insult away on MSNBC--they are National and THEY did carry your story far beyond just one DemCrook .

So you are saying cnn.com is an opinion network? Ok, I can live with that-this is what I'm asking.

CA is 10% of the nation, but Minnesota where a small town police chief was arrested for hiring a hooker has been on cnn.com for 24 hours now - how should that be news outside Minnesota - or even the small town?

You can't have it both ways. Either they're an opinion network in which case there's nothing to criticize. You're the one believing that it's not.

Frankly, I don't understand why it's news at all outside of California. I never heard of the guy until the RWers around here started going on about something they read about the "evil liberal media" in the blogosphere.

Awesome break down thank you.

Agreed and what has become the issue. The difference between news and commentary is very fine, but very hard. This is opinion based on previously reported news, but NOT on CNN.com, which I assumed was the intended topic.

If the topic of this thread has grown to a liberal NEWS media bias, let us have it, for I have demonstrated it based on the science of journalism and facts before, this being a more glaring examples.

The best? The release of the videos proving Obama lied about "you can keep your plan....." and any speech he's made

Only because, dear nim, you like to lump all republicans together with your bitterness and hatred. I can't recall how many times I've seen you label "all" and make up thing about "everyone" around here - that and your "moderate" claim are just silly.

Again keep deflecting so everyone can see you for the partisan leftist you've become. Does the DNC pay you for trying to deflect threads against their ilk? Or is it just pure blooded leftism for you?

Try post #28 by Thom Paine, not a know liberal.
Even when liberals do a great job trashing their own crooks, which Maddow has done,
you still can't get over your own blind hyper-partisanship .

Dude... Maddow has nothing to do with this thread... What does a person have to do to get that through your head?

I have made absolutely no comment on Maddow's story because IT ISN'T WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT!

Look, start a thread about it and I will be glad to evaluate her report... But that is not what's being discussed here, and you damned well know it.

Only because, dear nim, you like to lump all republicans together with your bitterness and hatred.
So you admit to breaking the rules here, while describing yourself.
I can't recall how many times I've seen you label "all" and make up thing about "everyone" around here -

Everyone around here can say the same about you and be far more accurate, especially in the hate you toss at Hillary.
Again keep deflecting so everyone can see you for the partisan leftist you've become.
The deflector and partisan is one given a source to debunk your OP and you can't take the truth.
Does the DNC pay you for trying to deflect threads against their ilk?
Ask yourself the same question about the RNC.
Your ilk is more easily ID'd as it seethes against Dems.
Or is it just pure blooded leftism for you?
Tell us how the Adelson primary is going, since your rightiecon friends are the ones who can be bribed by billionaires .

The OP is about ONE crooked Dem in California.
Maddow identified three and you can't deal with it .

Irrelevant. Maddows not part of CNN.

You too huh?
Another rightiecon quibbler of sources and links.
And to think Maddow even makes your point for ya.
This thread speaks to what rightiecons are about with asking for links or when they're provided .

No, the op is about CNN ignoring the story... It has nothing to do with MSNBC or Rachael Maddow.

I just told you to start a thread and I would comment on her story, which makes your accusation that "I can't handle it" completely ridiculous.

Well it has nothing to do with CNN... I realize your attempt to distract with irrelevant posts but other than liberal buzz word bingo, you have nothing.

Would you like to discuss the Dem pol in question in the OP?
Are there other pols who have been indicted?

Since when would a rightiecon shoot a liberal broadcaster's message which makes their case?
Only with hyper-partisans on dp .

Can you, bother, to answer the question: why doesn't cnn.com have this story?

What's so hard about that - I mean I get it doesn't fit your narrative; which I believe
also fits the cnn.com opinion/agenda.

Surely you would want to talk of that, right Grim?
But not with the source I provided, right grim ?

I don't watch that middle-of-the-road bull****.

Why won't you talk of the Dem crooks, since you want them covered by cnn ?

Because I'm asking you. If you don't click on cnn.com then its ok to say you don't bother with it, but I don't think its ok just to change the topic to your whim.

Why don't you ask them?
I don't watch that middle-of-the-road bull****.

Perhaps discussing Yee's insane hypocrisy (which is funny) and perhaps why CNN isn't making this a priority story. Why do you think that is? On CNN's website right now, 2 stories about Christie, 1 on Palin (who's irrelevant in Politics), though it's nice to see the Charlotte Mayor story is now at least showing up, though his political affiliation isn't mentioned. Whew!

Here's something that's becoming quite obvious... You don't give a damn about Maddow or her report, otherwise you would have started that thread... All you are interested in doing is changing the topic of every single thread you don't like politically, as you demonstrate every damned day you post on this forum.
