CNN Admits Mar-a-lago value

The prosecutor did not evaluate the property a tax assessor did. The tax assessor valued it based on its zoning which doesn't allow for redevelopment or occupation as a private residence.
Doesn't matter that the prosecutor didn't evaluate the property. They lied about what it was worth, and it wasn't $18 million.

What was it then?

What was the market value of Mar a Lago in 2011? 2012?

The thread title is a lie.

It's worth well over $200 million.
In 2011 and 2012, comparable homes were selling for around 10-12 million.

You have to go by the market value for when the crimes occurred, before Trump was ever running for office.

What a GAME CHANGER.

This is going to swing people over to Trump and the GOP.

LOL.

They never lied about it's worth. They never even claimed to know it's actual resale worth.

They presented the tax assessment as a counter to Trump's personal evaluation. They then went on to describe how Trump's personal evaluation was based on his assertion the property could be redeveloped or used as a private residence which was a false representation. It can't be because of a zoning deal Trump himself made in order to obtain the low tax evaluation. That's where the fraud played in. Trump lied about the zoning

Its value is not even in the same universe as 18 million! It's worth substantially more than that and by many times.

That is the tax evaluation Trump himself personally negotiated. Nobody to blame for that besides himself.

But...but...but...it's only worth $18 million!

Far, far from it.
A much smaller home in the same area with 1/3 less the square footage and about 1/6 less the acreage recently sold for almost 300 million.

Oh really. Was it zoned for use only as a club, no ability to redevelop or renovate extensively, and only employees can live there more than 12 weeks a year like Mar A Lago is?

Yep , but the true value of something, is what someone else is willing to pay.
Of course. But taxes don't work that way for a reason--they go by market value :)

Which means anyone touting it's value today isn't necessarily lying when they share what its value was in 2012.

… it shows how unrealistic the alleged value assessed (invented?) by the court was.
Which, of course, was 100% for political purposes and motivated by political agenda.

You really think that the Floridian working at the assessors office in 2012 was motivated by political purposes to give it the value they did?

Really?

Wow--you've got some pretty wild faith in the enormous omniscience of the workaday citizen.

They don't care about anything but getting Trump to such a degree that normally smart people have become irrational frothing zombies.

The entire case was 100% politically motivated, from start to finish. Frothing. Good adjective.

Sorry. Can't help you. The evidence is posted here in black and white and you got, "Nuh-uh!"

It is worth whatever he can get for it on the open market. That number should be reasonably close to its assessed value for tax purposes.

you make an excellent point
using donnie's $1.6 Billion estimate of fair market value for maga lago, he should have no difficulty whatsoever to pledge it to cover any bond which requires posting
his lawyers' admission to the court, that he cannot, is a lie

Nonsense.
LOL...ok.

I'm sure Florida would be very happy to tax it on that basis.
