YAY!! Walmart steps up!

To live in a free country, you have to give up many "freedoms".

The only time you should have to give up a freedom is when your freedom is infringing on somebody else's freedom.

The freedom of not soiling one's self is not a valid argument to ban guns, btw. Being "offended" generally doesn't cut it either. People who complain that two gays kissing in public "offends them" is one of those-their right to show affection trumps bigots' "rights" not to be offended.

What about jury service ?
What about the draft ?
What about doing what your boss tells you to do ?
What about laws - like speed limits, like where you can take a gun ?
What if you have to move to find work ?
What about private ownership fencing off previously open land ?

As a Chinese man once said : if a man can go anywhere in the world except one gated field, is he truly free ?

Not necessary.
Not necessary.
Your boss pays you.
Laws that violate our Constitutionally protected rights are null and void.
Then move to find work.
Private ownership specifically means being able to block it off.
To answer the dumb Chinaman, yes.

It doesn't make sense.

I said let me know when you understand it. I didn't ask for a continuing update on your failure to understand.

Abberation more or less answers all of that in post #607

Jury service and the draft not necessary.

Wow that's a major US institution rejected right there and how to fight wars like WWII, Korea and Vietnam on a volunteer only basis.

You boss violates your freedom

There are lots of laws that do and are Constitutional...take off your dewy eyed rose tinted glasses.

Moving to find work violates your freedom

Private ownership specifically means restricting your freedom

The answer is no. You're "free" only where you're allowed to be "free" and even in those places are heavily subjected to laws further restricting your "freedom".

Understand a nonsensical statement

For once you're right.

Only if it is nonsense, are you right.

You haven't explained anything to that effect so the more likely case is you just don't understand it.

Which it was/is.

I paid for an argument and all you are doing is contradicting.

No I'm not.

Just admit you don't understand the statement.

Jury service and the draft not necessary.

No. They are not major institutions. No war since then has needed, what proof is there it’s how to fight wars like?

You boss violates your freedom

No. He does not. I am there voluntarily.

There are lots of laws that do and are Constitutional...take off your dewy eyed rose tinted glasses.

Where did I argue otherwise?

Moving to find work violates your freedom[/hope]

Then don’t move. You are free to do either.

Private ownership specifically means restricting your freedom

Nonsense. Unless you’re claiming ownership of everything.

The answer is no. You're "free" only where you're allowed to be "free" and even in those places are heavily subjected to laws further restricting your "freedom".

The answer is the Chinaman and his answer are dumb. You aren’t oppressed just because a law, and your neighbor, will protect the product of his labor from theft.

Trial by jury is a MAJOR institution is it not ?

And no war for 80 years had needed conscription before WWII - who knows what future wars will require ?

And were you not required to register for the draft ?

No. He does not. I am there voluntarily.

So you go there for fun or is there a subtle coercion going on ?>

What if your boss says there's mandatory overtime this weekend - a you got Sunday 8am-4pm ?

Where did I argue otherwise? [/qyote]

So you do face restrictions to your freedom, every minute of every day ?

Then don’t move. You are free to do either.

That's like saying don't work
Starve and die...but you're free

Nonsense. Unless you’re claiming ownership of everything.

Not saying TOTAL ownership...but private ownership of say a beach violate your freedom to go there.

The answer is the Chinaman and his answer are dumb. You aren’t oppressed just because a law, and your neighbor, will protect the product of his labor from theft.

What's that go to do with anything.

You are only free to go where you're allowed access to. Most of the world is denied to you Btw.

You will find as you grow older that freedom is overrated. You are not free at all...you're a slave to the society you live in.
