Guess we need one of these. Draw for the groups was made to day.

A) Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay

B) Portugal, Spain, Iran, Morocco

C) France, Peru, Denmark, Australia.

D) Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria.

E) Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia.

F) Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea.

G) Belgium, England, Tunisia, Panama

H) Poland, Colombia, Senegal, Japan.

Group A is pretty open for second place as Uruguay should take first (despite being seeded 2nd), with Russia and Egypt fighting over 2nd position.

Group B should be Spain and Portugal going through.

Group C should see France go through and 2nd place being fought over by 3 nations.

Group D is very open. Traditionally Argentina should win, with 2nd spot open. However..

Group E is going to be steamrolled by Brazil, with the Swiss being nr 2.

Group F the group of death for Germany. While Germany should finish first, the opposition are not easy. 2nd place is up for grabs.

Group G is going to have England and Belgium go through, but...... dont count out Tunisia. I could see either England or Belgium tripping up. Last game is England vs Belgium.. so could be a final.

Group H is the most even group of all. Total toss up.

Have to say, the draw opened up some very interesting groups and match ups, with the possibility of some early shockers.

Based on the draw, Brazil has to be favourites now, ahead of Germany, with Spain and France following up. It will come down to injuries and current form of course, so we shall see.

I’m pretty happy with that group for England. Belgium will be the favourites but they are very beatable in the summer tournaments. Russia vs Saudi to kick it off beautifully sums up FIFA right now.

You think so?
2014 group stage was so much more interesting than that.

Quite possibly yes, I think the dynamics of F) and H) may be very interesting, some very interesting variety there not only in geographical location but styles of football and here's hoping Korea and Japan have evolved as their styles haven't changed much since their hosting of 2002 and they suffered severely in 2014 because of it.

A) and B) look like dog****, besides maybe an interesting game between Portugal and Spain I don't see much happening there.

My eyes on Iceland, they're going to come into this thing with so much fervor it'll hopefully be amazing to watch.

It'll be interesting to see if Colombia can recreate some of that passion they had in 2014.

And England... Well, despite that being my first team I'm not exactly hopeful and it's probably best to stay that way.
