Ummm....No. Moore is accused of soliciting actual sex from multiple underage women. One example of a bad and inappropriate joke does not come close to being equal. Both wrong, but not close to equal.

I'm not sure people realize that in such public places, with tons of media around, if people want to make a private comment to another person, that's about how close you need to get. I'm sure there are as many pics like that of women.
 
Well, I guess since there are people on the band wagon of just taking what an accuser's word for it with nothing to back it up, I might as well join in. It's the cool thing to do now, right? So I'm going to say it now, Al Franken should, effective immediately, resign as a US Senator because someone said he forced his tongue down this person's throat. Seriously, he should just get out and be put in jail. Forget about the perverted photo of Franken grabbing the chick's ta-tas while she was sleeping (unaware that he was doing that without her consent, and could be used evidence against Franken and charged with sexual harassment). Oh no. We're just simply taking the word from this one lady, and could open up the possibility of others who went through similar situations. That's what we have to go off of. Since we're going after Moore (with no evidence in sight so far, and it would almost seem there might not be any, but you never know), we have to do the right thing here and do the same thing with Franken. It's the only FAIR thing to do in situations like this, right?... Or do we take the photo into account and start putting some pieces together? Leave the possibility open that there are other women who have gone through what this lady has gone through, and have evidence (documents, audio, video, etc.) to back up their claims? What do you think?

Wow, such hypocrisy ! Franken asaaulted her. This wasnt part of some stupid joke, she described in detail what he did and her reaction to it and your'e doing everything you can to minimize it.

Franken hasnt even taken responsibillity for it. He said he " doesn't remember "

I swear I saw this in a movie about con men.

They hit the same mark more than once, claiming THEY had been scammed by the third party and if they had more cash they could get it back, plus some.

It worked because it is easier to believe a pretty lie than an ugly truth.

We don't like to admit we have been fooled. It makes us feel vulnerable, like we can't trust ourselves. So we rationalize, justify. Anything rather than experience those negative feelings.

Or give up the good feelings we were getting from some leader telling us what we want to hear who turns out to have lied to us or is just generally a scumbag.

Its human nature. Its science. And a profession exists to take advantage of this and other quirks of our cognitive processes.

It may be possible that what we're seeing today is an unintended(?) consequence of unlimited anonymous money being spent on this technology since the CU decision.

It is certainly cynically responsible for the current divide in this nation. The fingerprints of classic, brute force techniques are all over the rhetoric associated with positions on both sides.

Fixed it for ya. Assault is assault. Molestation is molestation. Moore is extremely disgusting. That doesn't mean Franken's actions aren't also disgusting.
