Woman accuses Al Franken of kissing, groping her without consent

Sexual misconduct is sexual misconduct. I don't care about comparing degrees of sexual assault. It's all bad, and it should all be condemned.

... you don't care about the difference between brutally raping someone and kissing someone without permission?

You may try to use a speeding ticket vs. DUI analogy to mitigate Franken's behavior, but the victims in both his and Roy Moore's cases saw the same thing.... Their bodies being groped without their permission. To the victims, the intent doesn't make a damn bit of difference. They both got the same treatment, and in both cases it was deplorable.

I'm sure you are newly horrified by this. Don't you have some Moore defending to do?

I just posted that Moore should step down, now on to Franken, and your attempts to justify his behaviour.

You either believe her account or you dont.If you do dont you think he should step down ?

Good for her for coming out. I don't think the picture looks bad at all, I can't even tell if his hands are actualy touching her tbh. But the kiss thing sounds ****ed up. It could be a misunderstanding between adults. If there are more accusations hopefully this will spur some of them and if so we will need to call for the removal of him. I like Franken and his politics, but this kind of **** can't go without punishment.

The picture doesn't look that bad? Did she consent to being made fun of? Did she agree to the insinuation?
Are the same people who are ready to tar and feather Moore on nothing more than say so that quick to find excuses for this jerk's behavior?
It wasn't that long ago when the hypocrite Senator weighed in

The picture wasn't part of a skit and as for the rest of your justifications ? I sincerely hope thats his and the Democratic party's strategy for dealing with this...

Al Franken accused of kissing, groping LA TV host without consent | Fox News

Her account of Franken forcibly kissing her was apparently more than " uncomfortable "

" I immediately pushed him away with both hands against his chest and told him if he ever did that again I wouldnt be so nice about it next time."

" I walked away. All I could think was to get to a bathroom and rinse the taste of him out of my mouth "

If there are others and there's a pattern, that changes things rather dramatically, but I haven't 'justified' anything.

Wow, just wow....Lol !

Franken is claiming " he doesn't remember " forcibly kissing her. THATS his defense, and NO its not taking responsibillity for his actions.

So you still dont think he should step down ?

And Im sure you people wouldnt accept a apology from a Republican, so why

Its refreshing when people recognize that it is only 1 side doing all these bad things...the other side.

And by refreshing, I mean refreshingly disgusting.

That's not what the other poster said, your response is not honest.

I'm against a system that allows the government to jail poor people for act that rich people can buy their way out of.

If there are no charges, no one is going to jail, however, interfering in the private arrangements of consenting adults using government force, is what advocates of government involvement in the bedroom advocate.

Lol ! What the hell man ??

I wouldn't call on Franken to step down, and it's for one reason only.... He has apologized for his behavior. He accepted responsibility for his actions. It's now for the voters decide when he is up for reelection. If he had not apologized, I would be calling for his head to roll.

Of course Franken apologized because he couldn't deny the charge.

Exactly, no denying the image. IMO he waffled about the kiss, gee I don't remember it that way, but I'm sorry if she saw it differently. Man up and admit you got aggressive with the woman and then say you're sorry.

If you want to take them all down for groping, so be it:

Trump says, “Grab them by the p---y” and “when you’re a star, they let you do it.”

You cool with that? I think a majority of the public is.

This after his grandstanding on the subject last week.

Typical.

In another odd twist to this story, none of than Roger Stone knew about this before the story actually broke.

I'm more agreeing with the second half of his post.

This is getting weird. Next Gilbert Gottfried is going to accuse Andrew Dice Clay of groping him.

I was never cool with that, but I was never cool with Bill Clintons sexual assault(s) eiither nor was I cool with letting Hillary pick our next 2 or 3 SCOTUS judges.

This thread is about Franken, you " cool " with him ?

Moore is accused of actually soliciting sex from a minor. The intent is absolutely a huge difference. If you're killed in a car accident, do you really care whether the car that hit you was speeding or drinking? The results are the same, but one crime is clearly more heinous than the other. The intent of a crime is always incredibly important when addressing the severtiy and punishment for it regardless of whether or not the outcomes are identical.

Nobody is saying that. Maybe you are. And it's a bipartisan issue. If you think Republicans & Dems are not condemning these actions, you are more blind than I thought.

None of this is acceptable. I think we are about to see a load of these coming down about members of Congress. I can't wait to see how they react. Who wants to bet they are going to take some kind of "the past is the past" attitude and say "going forward, you're going to be in big trouble!"?

Your beloved big govt in the flesh, and hard at work :2wave:

Congress owes taxpayers answers about its harassment 'shush' fund

"If the dispute is resolved in favor of the complainant (read: victim), funds for the settlement don’t come out of the offender’s personal bank account, or his or her campaign account. Instead, they come out of a secret account maintained by the Office of Compliance. It is so secret, in fact, that taxpayers don’t even know they are funding it.

According to the Washington Post, there were 235 complainants received compensation totaling $15.2 million between 1997 and 2014. "

Well taxpayers are saddled with paying for the sexual misconduct of congress members.

Are you really surprised? Franken has been a sleazy scumbag in the past and he will likely suffer more accusers before this is over.
