The groping is a slap on the wrist ? Thats not part of a skit. She's sleeping and whether he did it to be funny or not doesnt change the fact it was done without her consent

Seems to me that...

A. Franken posed for a picture, trying to be funny, even if it's questionable humor.
B. There are false equivalencies being given comparing Moore and Franken, but Moore is accused of criminal acts and the woman in Franken's case felt uncomfortable and didn't accuse him of anything criminal.
C. Unlike Moore, he offered an apology w/30 minutes of the press contacting him. He didn't lie about it, didn't deny it and didn't try and smear the accuser.
D. This was during a comedy skit practice.

I'll wait for a bit more from both parties before concluding anything. There is a slight whiff of opportunism here, w/McConnell already stating this should be investigated.

I don't think that you're right. I can understand the frustration you feel when a party spends weeks defending a child molester, and then pounces on Franken immediately after this accusation. If the Democratic party decides not to treat this seriously that is a slap in the face of the values they say they promote. This isn't about taking the high road as much as it is about doing what's right. The advantage in these situations will always swing Republican. That's the price Democrats have to pay for being the party that promotes women's rights.
 
Hardly the same as Roy Moore but a disqualification none the less. A very bad joke...in front of soldiers. But at least we are not saying it was locker room talk. And he clearly was joking around...but a bad joke none the less

It's not even nearly equivalent with Moore. The Moore defenders are despserate so they will do that. I still won't let Franken off the hook for what he did unless the woman he did it to lets him off the hook. And even then he drops a couple pegs in my eyes with that.

But you are right. Trying to be funny and failing at it miserably is hardly equivelent to being the serial predator of minors. Not even close.

There's another thread where somebody tried make the point that looking at Hentai disqualifies someone from condemning Moore.

Then liberals push for positive consent "yes means yes" and they get made fun of.

The picture wasn't part of a skit and as for the rest of your justifications ? I sincerely hope thats his and the Democratic party's strategy for dealing with this...
