'Willful Ignorance.' Inside President Trump's Troubled Intelligence Briefings

Well, isn't this a bit of snotty reporting from Mr. Walcott from Time....It isn't that these things are out there by yet more anonymous sourcing within the Obama politicized Intel services, but that the fact that some within those ranks are more than willing to talk to MSM media sources whom they know viscerally hate this President....

Here's how Sharyl Attkinsson lays it out in the Hill....

Ms. Attkinsson doesn't use the term, but I will...What we have seen for the past two years, and continuing is America's first Coup d'etat...And if not actually full blown, and complete with Troops marching into the White House to arrest, and remove President Trump, that is the dream...The next type would be a political coup....And that is what we are seeing...This is Obama's true legacy.

As we saw in Helsinki, Trump puts his trust in Putin not the American Intelligence community. So why are you guys wasting 81b a year on an intelligence service? That's like $200+ for every man, woman and child in the USA. That's pretty stupid don't you think, now that Trump is Putin's Bottom Boy?

I know that is your dream...To devolve this country to third world chaos....People that express what you did here, whether joking or not, are a threat to this country, and to liberty.

Trump is the greatest threat to this nation in the last three -quarters of a century. He should be removed from office ASAP.

Bush Sr and Obie

Bush Sr.? No. You can't head of the CIA, and prop up dictators like Noriega, and be an honorable man.

If by Obie, you mean Obama, then yes, that's one. Nevertheless my nickname for him is The Amateur.

You'll have to try again on the other one.

;-)

Title usurped by Herr dRumpf.

Well, it was really a rhetorical question that's begged by the whole "deep state" concept. There a only a few outside of family that have stayed with Trump from the beginning. Miller and Conway are the only ones I can think of.

And one of those is a blithering idiot, the other a raving white supremacist.

My nickname for Trump, as President, is The Great Disaster.

To quote a Brazilian expression: You're complaining with a full belly. Life for most in the US these days is quite prosperous. Things are so easy that people that like to complain need to look for reasons to be unhappy.

Actually, you will need to correct your list. I gave you the correct answers.

Bush Sr was the best President post WW2. Period.

I agree, Obie was useless. He just fit the criteria you set. Carter is another possibility for what you asked.

Obviously the bottom of the list is Trump, the orange deity of the troubled.

My nickname for Trump, as President, is The Great Disaster.

Hardly captures the danger and dishonesty that he is know for. That is a very kind name for such a ****.

Say hi to President Obama for me next time he's in your head.

Trump is the greatest threat to this nation in the last three -quarters of a century.

Yeah right....Nice story, tell it to readers digest!

He should be removed from office ASAP.

I so wish you democrats would just step on your d**ks and get it over with already...democrat dumbasses couldn't think their way our of a wet paper bag I tell ya....

Agreed. Conway can be amusing; Miller is scary in a Gestapo sort of way - ironically, he's Jewish.

Lets use Trumpian logic here

According to unnamed intelligence officers, Trump is

1) endangering American security
2) stubbornly disregarding their assessments
3) displaying willful ignorance
4) being given briefs that include visual aids
5) being given briefs that are only 2 or 3 sentences long
6) being repeatedly addressed by his name and title

Which of those are illegal leaks, as opposed to simple statements of facts or opinion, something the 1st Amendment allows intelligence officials to exercise?

Not what liberals said during their terms....

Why are you conjuring up imaginary friends you're calling "liberals" to make your arguments?

Reagan left office 30 years ago and I'm not sure why anyone in this era is bound by what your imaginary friends might have said 30-40 years ago. FWIW, at the end, there's a good chance he was suffering from dementia or early alzheimer's disease, which is different than dumb. Bush I was kind of a bumbler, but no one serious suggested the former head of the CIA was stupid.

Please, please show me proof of that.....How freakin dare you....
I have no doubt that you will lie frequently to your grandchildren....Poor kids.
If we were face to face I think you know what I'd say to you after this disgusting post of yours here....Keep your lies to yourself.

Hey J, where'd you go? I just want you to know I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't point out that your angry "pearl clutching" reply tells me more about you than you think. Your "outburst" is just you admitting those official conservative narratives were so completely dumb and dishonest that its a terrible insult if anyone accuses you of believing them. Now lets work with that anger. the people who told you those lies are the same people who got you to believe such ridiculousness as "Obama politicized Intel services" and "America's first Coup d'état". Why would you continue to obediently believe without question anything these liars tell you? Please don't pretend not to remember exactly how angry you were about those official conservative narratives.

18 U.S. Code § 798 disagrees with you...

"(a) Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes, or uses in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States or for the benefit of any foreign government to the detriment of the United States any classified information—

(2) concerning the design, construction, use, maintenance, or repair of any device, apparatus, or appliance used or prepared or planned for use by the United States or any foreign government for cryptographic or communication intelligence purposes; or
(3) concerning the communication intelligence activities of the United States or any foreign government; or
(4) obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government, knowing the same to have been obtained by such processes—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both...."

"The President's Daily Brief (PDB), sometimes referred to as the President's Daily Briefing or the President's Daily Bulletin, is a top-secret document produced and given each morning to the President of the United States, and is also distributed to a small number of top-level US officials who are approved by the President, and includes highly classified intelligence analysis, information about covert operations of the US Central Intelligence Agency and reports from the most sensitive US sources or those shared by allied intelligence agencies.[1] "

These briefings are classified, and whomever is talking to the press about any aspect of them, are violating the law...Is that ok with you?

None of the info I listed is classified, or at least, no one has shown that it is.

Are you suggesting that the US govt has determined that Trump is endangering the nation and officially classified that info? If yes, you are admitting that he is endangering american security

OMG you people sure twist things that are said....I truly hope that is not on purpose because if it is, it is so dishonest....

In any case, as I stated, the very nature of the PDB, and all aspects of it, including whom it was given to is classified...These people are breaking the law by the very nature of talking about it in any fashion...

The US Constitution provides for a legal method to remove the President in what many would describe as the coup referred to earlier. It is called the 25th Amendment. And it should be used today for a President who is unfit for office, is obviously mentally unfit, and his hold on the reins of power represents a clear and present danger to our nations and its people.

If troops are necessary to carry out the 25th Amendment and forcibly remove Trump - so be it.

If the right wing Trumpkins want to call that a coup - fine with me.

Hi, j. I hope you're doing well. I don't take too much exception with your OP, but do you think that the underlying reporting is that far fetched? It is no secret that Trump has an attention deficit, is not very sophisticated in his understanding of geopolitics, and has an irrational distrust of his own government. I know that you have some skepticism of your own; and I do not intend to criticize you. I'm simply positing that rather than a coup, we might be witnessing the effects of a bureaucracy that believes certain things for very good reasons conflicting with a president who believes certain contradictory things for ostensibly no good reasons or substantiation at all.

Thanks for the nut job news slant.
LOL!!! This is but one example what that source considers an 'accomplishment'

"Chaired meeting the 73rd General Session of the United Nations discussing the worldwide drug problem with international leaders."

and they lap it up without question. :cuckoo:

You think the fact that the president receives intelligence briefings from intelligence officers is classified info? :lamo
