Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

It certainly doesn't feel like Trump will be removed from office, but 538 offers a historical perspective:

"Today, as another impeachment drama unfolds, it’s easy to see Republicans like Hogan, who were willing to break ranks with their party, as a fundamental difference between Watergate and today. And it’s true that Republicans are currently staying in President Trump’s corner. But while we tend to focus on the bipartisan rebellion that led to Nixon’s resignation, it’s also worth understanding how public opinion and the party eventually turned against the president.

Support for impeachment had grown slowly over the course of 1974, but there still wasn’t an overwhelming public consensus behind it until right before Nixon left office in early August. And Republican support for Nixon had remained mostly strong, even in the face of a scandal that consumed his second term. As the truth about the scope of Nixon’s misconduct emerged, though, impeachment became increasingly popular and the president lost even his most fervent defenders in Congress. Of course, there are many differences between the Nixon impeachment and the Democrats’ current inquiry, which is still in its early stages, and each impeachment investigation will unfold differently. But as today’s Republicans are scrutinized for signs that they might turn on Trump, it’s important to remember that even in Watergate, it took more than a year of investigation — and a lot of evidence against Nixon — to reach the point where Republicans like Hogan were voting for impeachment."

Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

Well of course. However, if Pelosi doesn't Impeach, the Senate is moot. Her goal is to have POTUS removed.

-VySky

Yes, she should have a noble goal, like ensuring Trump is a one-term President. Where have I heard that before?

Her goal is to expose his corruption if there is any. Just because you are all in for Trump doesn't mean all of America turns a blind eye. If he's innocent, he has nothing to fear. If he isn't, they will vote to impeach him and the Senate will not vote to remove him from office because the Senate Republicans are ail in for Trump too.

Your no vote is noted. Thx

Your question was stupid, as everyone pointed out to you. She can't remove him from office. You should go to your local library and pick up a copy of the Constitution.

She won't succeed and I'm not convinced Pelosi even wants to remove Trump from office and have the Dem candidate to face Pence in 2020.

I think she likes it just how it is now, with a scandal- ridden and disliked GOP president in the WH.

Please review this thread where I posted a quote from Nancy where in her own words she says she wants to ensure he is removed from office. That is her goal. She is purpose driven. Her only reason to impeach, should she muster the stones in this lifetime to have a vote is to see he is removed from office.

Of course she wants him out of office. So does everyone with a working brain.

She should have just said "We want to make him a one-term President" and then spend all her days obstructing everything he wanted to do. Does that sound familiar?

And my poll is a simple yes, or no. You are free to define your response, but this poll eliminates the biased response choices we see with others

"Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?"

You do know how the impeachment process works, right?

Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

It's unlikely, but only because Republicans control the Senate. Odds are extraordinarily high that he will be impeached, but Republicans will protect him no matter what.

The question is, when Senate Republicans choose to block impeachment how many Senate seats will it cost them?

Seems many here don't understand Pelosi's intent. If.... IF, she has the courage to call for a vote her ultimate goal is to see the Senate follow through. Thus HER impeachment would be successful in removing him from office. Then Pelosi would get ALL THE credit for POTUS being out of office. Democrats are so dishonest and the deflection in this thread confirms it.

Calm down and look at the question you asked. You asked if the Speaker of the House can remove the President of the United States.

Try hard to understand what was wrong with your question. Try very hard.

Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

Very unlikely. Why should the Senate take seriously a house impeachment process that isn't serious enough to vote on official impeachment proceedings? The so-called "impeachment" they are pursuing is nothing more than partisan politics and should be treated as such.

So you're not going to address the problem of why it is literally impossible that Pelosi could remove Trump from office. :)

One of two things is going on here:

1. You know how the impeachment process works and are just stirring up the pot, or
2. You have no clue how the impeachment process works and are going full Dunning-Kruger.

Which is it, VySky? Can you please address this by summarizing how the impeachment process works so that you can prove you have the slightest clue of what you're talking about? ;)

Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

Yet Pelosi has stated her intent via the process she has implemented is to insure POTUS will not be elected in 2020. So my poll is on point.

-VySky

One can have multiple agenda here. Impeaching Trump and hoping he is not reelected are not mutually exclusive.

I have the same outlook myself.

And for this, I thank you. A bunch of the other polls on this forum are too bias and too childish.

I still can't answer the poll question. That said, but if...if...Giuliani ends up being indicted, the needle on the "trump will be removed from office" needle will rise about 15-20%.

Re: Will Nancy Pelosi Be Successful in Removing President Trump from Office?

Will probably be about as successful as Clinton's removal.
