So we had two years of Republican control and with not one foot of new wall being built.

But now that Democrats have control of the house and spose the wall it will somehow magically be built...

Democrats don't have a problem with border security. Clinton and Obama had no problem with promoting better border security.

The real problem is Trump poisoned the issue.

Imagine a politician insisting that we need to build a wall to stop Jews from sneaking into the country. It would make it impossible for anyone to support this wall even if there was some merit to having a wall.

The moment Trump claimed that these people were "murderers and rapists" he poisoned the issue. No one wants to on the side of a bigot (except other bigots).

that is true as well! but in this case only a few would get past it and a large group can easily be stopped at a breach by using monitoring technology, which is what we want.

sure, in wars walls aren't very good anymore... but as stated earlier we aren't fighting and they aren't an army.

a wall will work quite well.

Never met a wall a ladder or tunnel didn't like. I do however agree in more than a few places sensors and drones would be much more effective than a wall. Who doesn't want to think our borders aren't at least halfway secure, nobody that I know.

Not really, since the wall doesn't address the other 40% of illegals in the USA. For some very strange reason the only illegal immigration that the GOP wants is against brown immigrants. And if you were really concerned with illegal immigration, you wouldn't forget about those 40%.

i'm not forgetting them , but first things first.. its hard enough to get ANY of this past the entrenched establishment on both sides who would rather just twiddle their thumbs, much less REAL and total reform.

How will a wall work to reduce drug trafficking when drugs are smuggled in through legal checkpoints, not the gaps in the wall?

You forget who was president in those two years...dictator obama. He will never have any border security as long as his regime is able to let all kinds of illegals in to take our jobs and to illegally vote in order to keep you liberal/Demos in power. So as you know a few illegals here and there are extreme cultists themselves. The only delusions produced is by the liberal/Demos,no one is fooled anymore.
