Why Michael Flynn Is Walking Free

Nothing.

This is true.

Its not illegal. The ethical end of it is subject to debate.

What makes there to have been no crime is that there was no valid investigatory reason to question Mr. Flynn. As such, his statement cannot be said to be misleading a material fact of the case.

The valid reason is that Flynn's calls were monitored like all communications with the Russian embassy and what they heard was treasonous. Sure enough Flynn also thought what he said was illegal and therefore lied about it.

Actually, the FBI had no issue with the conversation.

No, this is not a general precedent. It's a specific intervention by a crooked & criminal President and his sycophant co-conspiring A.G., to circumvent the rule of law for personal political gain.

The Justice Department has dismissed cases in the past including the Stevens case. That was requested by President Obama's own Attorney General Eric Holder for the same reason: misconduct by prosecutors. It was done before the same judge, Judge Sullivan. How is that for precedent?

Stevens did not plead guilty.

Doesn't matter.

Yea it kinda does. Flynn accepted responsibility and plead guilty in front of Judge Sullivan. Flynn also received a very good deal because he was caught doing illegal **** for the Turkish and conveniently left out his Russian trips and payments on security clearance background check.

So your typical what about Obama is dead balls different

Incorrect.

From the May 8 interview Catherine Herridge CBS and Bill Barr:

They had started a counterintelligence investigation during the summer, as you know, related to the campaign. But in December, the team, the Crossfire Hurricane team, was closing that and determined they had found nothing to justify continuing with that investigation against Flynn.

"... On the very day they prepared the final papers, the seventh floor, that is the director's office and the deputy director's office up there, sent down word they should keep that open. So that they could try to go and question Flynn about this call he had with the Russian ambassador.

Let me say that, at that point, he was the designated national security adviser for President-Elect Trump, and was part of the transition, which is recognized by the government and funded by the government as an important function to bring in a new administration. And it is very typical, very common for the national security team of the incoming president to communicate with foreign leaders.

And that call, there was nothing wrong with it whatever. In fact, it was laudable. He-- and it was nothing inconsistent with the Obama administration's policies. And it was in U.S. interests. He was saying to the Russians, you know, "Don't escalate." And they asked him if he remembered saying that, and he said he didn't remember that. ..."

And none of it mattered to the FBI ...

Absolutely it did hence why they only charged him with lying, ie the lesser of the charges. That is how plea deals work.

The FBI closed the investigation into Flynn in December, which means these so-called "charges" were insufficient to drag him to court over.

Bill Barr: "... But in December, the team, the Crossfire Hurricane team, was closing that and determined they had found nothing to justify continuing with that investigation against Flynn.

1995 - "As I know you know, but others should know, too, I truly enjoyed working with you when you were attorney general," Biden told Barr, who had served as President George H.W. Bush's attorney general in the early 1990s. "You were one of the best I have ever worked with, and there have been a lot of attorneys general since I have been here, and I mean that sincerely."

Yes Barr had a short stint as AG then cashed in with the big telecom. Now he is back, he is the definition of “THE DEEP STATE”

Ted Stevens? Stevens didn't admit guilt & plead guilty. Turley's attempting to present a false equivalency.

Flynn is walking free, because he is guilty of nothing .
