Why is Donald Trump homophobic?

Because he's a believer that the states should be able to decide on such issues on their own without being told by the feds what to do.

The "enlightened" side demand the feds dictate what to do to states that are ideologically non-compliant.

Um, the states don't get to decide to whom they will confer human and civil rights. That was the basis for the marriage equality struggle (and women's voting rights and desegregation and on and on).

The "enlightened side" just wants equal rights equally applied to all people.

Are you saying that heterosexuality is the default sexuality? Questioning (or queer) was a term developed for people who do not identify as straight, gay, or bisexual.
default? I don't guess I understand that question. What I'm saying is that figuring this out is something that shouldn't be interfered with unless someone asks for help. I wouldn't call it an identity, it's a period of transition

Yes, mugged and jumped. It happens a lot when the gay bars and clubs close. Thankfully the police take hate crimes very seriously now.
Perhaps that is the source of my nievite. I don't frequent gay bars and clubs and when I do i don't close them.

I'm just asking what people should call themselves as they transition.

Happy Thanksgiving by the way!

I'd say in need of therapy.

Then can call themselves what they want, but when it comes to forcing others to play along, that's out of bounds.

"Marriage equality" is a myth, unless you want incestuous couples and arranged traditional Islamic man/girl marriages. Otherwise you need to concede that marriage is a privilege and not a right.

While a person is questioning her or his sexuality, how do you think that person should identify?

I don't mind your questions. I hope you don't mind mine. I'm enjoying getting to know you and other posters too.

As far as the discrimination I have faced, it hasn't been in a way that largely affected my life.

I have been called a faggot and other things. I have been ostracized because some people disliked my sexual orientation.

It is the older generations in my family and a few straight men from earlier times in my life who mostly cause my insecurities. I also want to support my several gay and transgender friends who have been jumped, mugged, and harassed by supporting their civil rights.

They have been discriminated against in ways, e.g., apartment rentals, home purchases, and jobs, that I feel strongly enough to post the way that I have.

Since we're getting to know each other, I have another question related to how our conversation started. What is a homophobe?

It seems to be anybody that disagrees with the gay lobby, usually due to their religious views.

That is not a homophobe. It is a bigot though.

Do you know what the definition of bigot is?

Cue death by dictionary....

I meant what I said.

big·ot

ˈbiɡət/

noun

a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

Let me know if you need additional clarification.

According to that, you fit the title, so why sling it around?

You're off to a great start. Did I do something to you? We don't know each other, so grow up and chill out with the name calling.

OH so it's name calling if someone points out that you exhibit the behavior of the definition of bigot you threw at the president.

I see.

Please, go back to Cali.

How about people? I need ever cared much for labels.

Thank you and happy thanks giving to you as well.

Trans people care for labels: boy... girl...

Why are you insulting California?

What in absolute hell are you talking about? I think you have me confused with another poster.

It's because Trump came out of literally nowhere to attempt to kick out and ban Transgender troops from the military. Along with the fact that Trump aligns himself with people who are staunchly anti-LGBT like Mike Pence without once ever demanding people like Pence to change their views. This is Trump, he will change his tune to whoever he's in a room with so how he truly feels about the LGBT community is a mystery but his out of nowhere tweets trying to give people far braver than him the boot from military service was an absolutely scummy, bigoted thing to do.

There should be no transgender troops in the military.

1. Most transgenders used Obamas law to get surgery paid for by us.

2. Almost all transgenders could not be deployed because they needed therapy and counseling continuously to make sure they were certain on the surgery.

3. After surgery NO transgenders could be deployed do to health risk, infections, and or emotional counseling, for 4 years!

4. An extremely low % of transgenders actually served or deployed, most were given office staff jobs and then honorably discharged after their time.

Having a man with a stint in his newly made vagina needing to stop and apply ointment and creams and take his estrogen pills is not what we need on our front lines! Its pathetic and quite frankly disgusting!
