Marriage is a secular civil contract between two people. Matrimony, holy or otherwise, is the religious sacrament of joining two people in a religious ceremony.

However you want to define marriage or matrimony is up to you. Why would I appose interfaith or interracial marriages? I don't nor have I ever. As long as the marriage is between a man and a woman. With that said, I didn't have a problem with Gay Unions so that they could get government assistance or proper health insurance. However, to put their unions on par with God approved marriages, no.

Actually, it's been done many times. The Bible is full of instances of God destroying evil doers proving the God of Israel is God. As far as drawing lines, liberals do it all the time to conservatives. Telling conservatives what they can and cannot do with their own money, property and bodies for that matter. Liberals won't vote for a conservative woman because she is conservative and to liberals all women should stick together and vote for only Democrat women.
